Did I get a clone or a real Kanger, store says its old stock w/no scratchoff code. I added a photo showing package and bat, also there was no directions inside the package.

Did Kanger make any bats where the box doesn't have the scratchoff code or printed instructions. I can see the new round label outside the package not being there cause Kanger didn't add that until May 2014.

Anyone wanting to read Kanger's authentic page here it is.

I'm not sure. Do EVOD vv's even warrant a scratch off? I have a ton of EVOD clearos and they didn't have anything except for the outer wrapper. Maybe the bulk box that they were shipped in came with a code, but who knows. It being old stock could be a perfectly legit reason for not having any markings. I thought clones had stickers but all had the same number IIRC.

It looks pretty real if you ask me. I'd hold the store accountable if there are any problems with it.

Is there engraving on the bottom of the unit?

Edit: Best bet is to go to fasttech and look at the authentic EVOD vv and compare it to the non-authentic ones. Looks like the EVOD vv comes in a 5 pack. I bet the number/sticker was on that.

All I know is what the Kanger waranty page says on how to check if its authentic. WHich says all packages have a scratchoff with code and printed instructions inside. And after May/1/14 they added a round sticker, when wet it turns solid color and when dried out the Kanger emblem comes back. They say nothing about old stock.

Here's another thing that puzzles me. Say a person wanted to send his battery back for warranty replacement. Just because the package has a code, what about the bat itself. How does Kanger know the battery u r sending back was inside the package or a clone. Is there a coder inside the battery to prove its authentic, I don't see any on the outside of the bat?

I'm going to email kanger and ask what their old stock had. And how they identify the battery itself to be a real Kanger or clone when the box is the only thing with a code.

I have several things from Kanger, and I've never had any reason to believe any of it is counterfeit. I've never seen this scratch off code stuff. Most of it, I don't have the original package (who keeps that kind of thing?) but I do have an unopened Protank II package, and it doesn't seem to have any of that stuff. (I didn't open it to look inside. I just have it on the shelf as a backup.)

The Kanger website linked above says they started doing this stuff on 1st May, 2014. That's pretty recent. I'm sure a lot of places have authentic kanger products that don't have the new scratch off protection.

May 1st 2014 is when they added the last anti-counterfeit item which was a round label, the link says when its wet the Kanger logo disappears, when dried out it reappears.

They do not say when they started the scratchoff code and printed instructions.

The one I got has the Kanger emblem on the batteries bottom, can't tell if its etched or lightly painted

Trust me I did the research, there is a allot of counterfeits out there. If you email Kanger they will tell you there is allot of counterfeits.

As for PT2 it's a tiny label inside the box with a scratch code, not on the outside.
Edit: I've gotten scratch codes with all kanger products... :S So you might have clones.

The bottom of the battery is important. Does it have the Kanger logo on it? If it is not "engraved" it is probably a fake.

This, kanger batteries got a special engraving on the bottom of the battery.

If u need to return any Kanger products to kanger for warranty purposes, then you will have to have the codes or you will have no warranty. They are pretty clear about that in their warranty section.

If you emailed Kanger and told them exactly what you said(I've never seen this scratch off code stuff), I am 100% sure they would tell you all ur items may be counterfeit.

....... Most of it, I don't have the original package (who keeps that kind of thing?)....

Anything anyone buys, no matter if its a TV,Fridge,E-cig battery, etc. If they want to use the warranty feature, they must follow the factory warranty proceedures. And for Kanger u must have the scratch code. Without it U R sol.
