I really am loathe to spend a lot of money on an RTA/RBA where I have no idea whether I will like it or not. Also, while it MAY or may not be "better" than the original, which can be debatable in some instances, it can really be useful to find out if it's a product I MAY NOT like, before springing for an original. I have a couple Kayfun clones for example and I'm just really not a huge fan of juice flow control. I suppose at some point I could go back to them with a renewed interest in making them work, and if I really do get something magical at which point I would consider an original, but I think clones can be great for figuring out if something is for you. I don't feel bad getting clones in those instances, because if I like the clone enough, I'd probably be willing to buy an original.
There are also just atomizers like the doggy style, where it is near impossible to even FIND let alone buy an authentic and in those instances I am happy that clones are available, not to mention thrilled to find an RTA I really like for 12 dollars.
I guess it's all about how and where you want to put your money at times. As I return to work, I plan to slowly save up for a Dicodes mod (which really, there aren't clones available) but I just really want one, am willing to pay the price, and I really doubt my need to try a clone (if I could even find one, I mean....)
I guess what I'm saying is clones have their place and not their place along with everything else. I do find the prices of SOME authentic rebuildables to be a bit ridiculous, also, although IDK, what the market supports, it supports. Plenty of happy Kayfun users out there more than willing to pay the premium for the original etc.
