Wow, what is a IFTTT trigger? Also, not sure if you read or not but our mobile site lags behind the original so if you're surfing on your phone be sure to scroll to the bottom and click 'view full site' or you may be in for a healthy serving of Angry German Kid.
You make your own automated triggers with the formula "If
This, Then
That". The IFTTT services uses a web app's API to perform autmated function. They call each API a "Channel", which you can choose to activate and link your account. So for this example I used
If (Instagram user @ArtGlassDripTips posts a photo) then (Android Notifications create "Hey Bert Posted on Insta, go check TrippyTips!")
along with
If (Instagram user @ArtGlassDripTips posts a photo) then (Phone Call XXX-XXX-XXXX, say "Hey Bert Posted on Insta, go check TrippyTips!")
It's really a very helpful little automating tool, but sometimes can be limited. Depending what you have in your home you can have it change AC/heater, or turn on off lights, etc but set to cewrtain triggers. You could essentially have it change via the weather report, or if you get a text message, or an email, or tweet. Anything.
I have about 35 active triggers right now, I especially like the timer for Bedroom change to nightlight Blue and dim, or the 2am turn off all lights if forgotten, or make living room flash blue when new episode of Dr Who comes on. It also auto x-posts my picture statuses to Twitter, or Insta to FB + Twitter, and saves every picture I post to a Dropbox folder. Or when I reach a certain area (class) it would mute and set my phone to vibrate, when I leave the GPS location it sends a text to Kali that I am on my way and I love her. I really have only touched on the surface of its functions, but its a lot of fun.
