Good Morning Trippyville,
Well I got into the office before 8am and have had folks stopping by my office to see if it is actually me or just somebody turning my light on this early. My boss is fully convinced that Hell has officially frozen over. Now to get out of here by 4:30pm so me and Mrs. Brew can get our workout going early. This is really a change that needs to happen. I hope everyone else is having a great day and looking forward to word of the next sale. Brew

Legislative stuff is looking more and more negative and our Airport just banned vaping anywhere on their property including their cell phone lot while sitting in your own vehicle. I see a huge market in covert vape devices coming into play across the country.

Good morning Tripsters.

Reid. I'm no expert but I have read that one should not allow bats to completely discharge. That it is best to recharge once volts drop to 3.2. If there is a short or something causing a slow discharge when not in use then perhaps that is the cause. I know when I had a Reo VV I would turn the switch off at night. I remember that if I didn't it seemed the bats drained overnight but I never had ine fail to the point of not being able to charge.

Thanks Sedge. That helps some. Still doesn't explain why 4 batteries died though.
On a happier note, I just have to share this pic with you:

This is one of my Lady Banksia roses in bloom. It's a vine which has managed to climb it's way up into the crepe myrtle. Last year it didn't bloom at all and I was worried. So to see this makes me smile everything I take Sophie out for a walk.

Hello Trippykin,

LvXXy5B.jpg

Man, his March just blew by huh! Happy last week of March everyone! :toast:

DW - Meredith looks so happy & loved :D - she gets prettier with each passing photo

Reidus - Sorry to hear of your battery troubles. :( How old were those batteries? Do you have a meter to check the batteries charge? I've been buying a new set of batteries after a year because they hold their charge for shorter periods as they age. In fact, it's about time for me to get new batteries myself, and a new meter! I wonder if AW's are still the way to go

I was not happy with my last purchase of AWs at all - upon arrival they read 3.8 and 3.9 instead of 4.0 :?: After charging, same thing  Guess those had been sitting around a while

Delilah, I don't have a meter to check the charge, other than putting them in my Vamo for the 18350s. They're definitely dead. As far as age, I'm not sure but I believe that they're not terribly old (a few months or so) as I've only been buying Efests for the last 6 months or so. I'm debating with going to Panasonics but haven't decided yet.

6 months? Well maybe the AWs are not so bad after all. I've read good reviews about the Panasonic 18650 batts, but I haven't tried those yet. :)

I use Panasonics mostly and they last forever. I still have some that I use at about 15 months now. They are back ups and last about 6-8 hours.
New, I would get a day or more, alternating between 3 mods daily :)

Good to know Dolphins :thumb: My 18650 AWs are not even a year old yet and they don't hold a charge for 8 hours anymore -- I've gone through 4 today and now I'm using my 18350s! I'm definitely going to give the Panasonics a go -- can you recommend a good vendor? Tx! :)

I have some 18350s that I've been using for 2 years in my Provari. I rotate 6 of them. I don't wait till they run out and I charge them on a Pila. I have an internal resistance meter and they are as good as new.

I've been using Orbtronics lately for my 18650s. The P2900s in my Provari and Semovar and the SX22 and SX 30s on my DNA 30 mods. So far I like them.

Technical question for y'all: Can a mod trash batteries. Twice now I've gone to replace my batteries in my REO only to find they're both completely dead (ie, won't re-charge). Remember it takes 2 18350's. I find it hard to believe that both batteries would die at the same time, twice.

The VV REO will slowly deplete the batteries if you don't turn the switch off the vv chip has a little LED light on it and I have trashed a couple sets myself when forgetting about mine

I usually get the green Panasonic 3400s. :)
I buy mine at either at RTD or Hoosier Ecig depending on who has the best price and coupon ;)
