Oh HEY everyone!

Been a while so Happy New Year!:laugh: So nice to see most of the gang is still here - I've missed you guys! Hubby and the doggie girls and I are fine. A new guilty pleasure is the reason for my absence on ECF - late last year I discovered viewing streaming TV series from Spain on the computer and I have been on a viewing craze ever since :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I just checked my email and noticed there was a sale two days ago that I missed! Waaaaaaaaaaah!

And what's worse - when I go to TrippyTips.com I am getting notified that the site is not secure because its security certificate has expired! BERT please look into this!

Well, that's all for now ... A blessed and happy week to all :)

Nice, I scored the other (I think). Didn't realize in the mad dash that there were two similar ones like that

Snagged the short black/white one, too. Will post pics when they arrive

Got in on the Plasma tank deal, too. Now I'll have to bring my kayfun out of hibernation ;-)

Hi Delilah, no time no see!
Woohoo! My new DS 40 came in today. I don't have time at the present to play around with nickel wire and temp control but I will eventually. It looks awesome!

Sam seems to be settling in okay. Sophie's not really happy but I'm hopeful that they will eventually be great pals. It's a bit weird; I've never had a dog that didn't bark before. At the most, she'll make a whining sound but other than that silence.

Hi D! Good to see you back :)

For those wondering about the security warning this morning rest assured it was nothing to worry about, I just needed to renew our SSL encryption certificate. It's done and running smoothly again now :D

Mine came in today as well! Still tinkering with the temp control, if anyone is currently using a dna40 in here what temp do you usually set it to?

First, it's great to see BonnieG and Sweet D !!!

Bert as you see the default is 450º. Even though cotton starts to char at 410º (I think), the board takes an average including the legs and I've never had a problem at that temp. Some have said certain flavors taste better at lower temps.

Reidus Vapor Shark, and maybe more now, have Nickel heads for the Sub tank and the Nautilus.

I love tight (((Hugs))) !

No Reidus, you can use Nickel on any device. Your build is going to be somewhere around .12 to .14Ω. Don't freak out, it is supposed to be and the 40 is made to handle that. JUST DON'T PUT IT ON ANOTHER DEVICE :) If you are building dual coils, you probably want to use 30ga and I generally use 28ga on single builds. It's good to have some of both gauges.

LOL, I promise not to freak. I've got 28g nickel already. I'm not really a fan of dual-coil builds; There seems to me to be a bit of a delay in heating. I already ordered some nickel heads from Vapor Shark (thanks for the heads up) to try first, then I'll probably convert my Russian to nickel and use the Electron I just ordered for it.

Ya know this level of resistance is just an accident looking for a place to happen. The potential for disaster is just over the top and is what will keep me from doing the DNA 40. It's like putting a 300lb TV on an aluminum TV tray with a child sitting underneath. :danger: The tray may hold but the potential is just outrageous. Being an electronic engineer makes me shudder at this particular solution to over-heating and makes me hope they can figure a way to provide similar functionality at 1.1Ω - 1.5Ω. I personally could wire this up and would know exactly how to handle it. Hell I worked with blasting caps, TNT and nitro back in my stone company career. However the potential for the ignorant is going to give the media the fuel it needs to go after Mods as well. Stepping off soap-box. :2c:

You mean because an Atty could be used accidentally on another device, or are you thinking software problems on the safety implements of the dna40?
