You would generally only slot the bottom if you have two channels, one either side on the positive screw so the juice flows evenly, if a single hole up the middle of the positive screw with a hole through the post just above the deck there's no need to slot the base

Ok understand...but I didn't look closely enough. All my attys only have one hole drilled up through the post.
I guess the 510 is designed not to allow juice to leak down into the "guts".

Thanks

duane

Most 510's can be made not leak into the "guts" either just by the tolerances or with an oring

That's what I figured but I think I have left over slots from what were originally screws before they were drilled. Hasn't been a big problem but I notice the 510 is wet on the inside each time I remove an atty. Since the 510 I have is spring loaded I was wondering about juice going down inside the mod.

yes... Can't figure out why it wouldn't contribute to leaks.

For the same reason the crank case in your car's engine has oil sloshing and spattering all around to lubricate the moving parts but the oil doesn't leak out. The wet side of a bottom feeder system is sealed. The void inside you 510 can be either positive pressurized or negative pressurized but either way the system is sealed much like your engine. The only unsealed part is the actual deck which relys on gravity and common sense to keep juice in the right place. With the vector, manta, or rogue common sense is optional. Feel free to ask the same question in my thread and I can go further in depth without derailing TMod bussines.

Any NRA blue pics available yet? So stoked about the sx350j.... So stoked. Any thoughts on the DNA200?
Here's the titanium blue, I sprayed it on my own 26650 it looks better in real life, it's got a nice metal ic look to it, almost like you can see metal in it.

I'm a fan of the turn towards lipos, but requiring a 3s lipo (that's three cells in series ) first off seems like they should be getting more power our if it, which seems like it's pretty far past overkill, but the biggest reason I wouldn't touch it, besides the fact it's an evolve product, is the huge size of the batteries you need to power it. Even if you run it off of three 18650s, in series, your looking at a huge mod with sith battery life. Those are my thoughts right off the bat. I could be totally wrong, I haven't looked into it much. I would just rather swap out batteries than be required to carry them all the time in the mod.

Just spit balling here but with the lipos and a USB port I wonder if those emergency power packs would work to charge on the go. I wonder what the max discharge rate would be. I think one of those 10k+ mah packs would be awesome, ever tried it? Just for charging purposes not to be installed in the actual device.

But that actually raises another question: what's the max charge rate of the onboard USB board. I would think with Lipo packs anything less than 2a wouldn't be worth the time and lipo packs as I recall like to be charged at 5c or 5x the mah rating of the battery. Ie 2000 mah battery =2ah battery x 5c = 10a charge rate. Charging a lipo pack at 500mah or 1/2a would take forever and really wouldn't charge properly. Just a thought.

Well eith the lipos you can charge just thru the ballance charger, likt to any power source (slow) or you can run power to the balance charger plug and the normal power plugs (fast) btu either way youd have to have the plugs on the pwoower source or connect with like alligator clips. You could do it prolly, but it would be a long charging time. i believe thats one of the cooler things about the dna200 board: the balancing software put into the board, im thikning in order to charge the pack thru the usb port you havet o connect it to a low output source and thats gonna kick your charging times up to lots of hours. The thing i dont like about the 200 is the size of the batteries your gonna need to run, it's gonna be a pretty large (size not capacity) pack with low mah. or at least thats what I think.

im not even going to try to correct that mess. .
