This is a much better solution.
I would just make the bases of the buttons thicker, which is essentially what your doing with the oring, bit I have to accommodate for all the different batteries, different 18650's are different heights, not a lot, but enough to make a difference. Go with the orings, much better.
Tbev, glad you're feeling better, I love the new models & engraving options available... as for those Italian bottles, CH just bought 30 for $175 shipped by DHL, personally I haven't had any problems with the current bottles, they're plenty soft and don't leak unless over-tightened.

IIRC a couple months ago someone here mentioned using O-rings on the button to shorten the throw, I found this to be an easy solution since I have a large collection of them. Remove the button from the top and slide the O-Ring down to the base of the button, replace & test... problem solved without bending the Copper bar, and eliminates the need for a magnet in most cases.

Thanks for the info on the bottles, I am sure they will fit in the new micro mod,

Hahahah! If you wreck it I can fix it! People always ask me about warranting them, I say that if you can hurt it I want to see it. Not bc I'm going to try to say it's your fault and I'm not gonna help, just because I like to see how bad they can be damaged and still be brought back to new.....well close to it anyways, we all saw the go kart track mod right hahahah!

Here's the new 18650 next to the mini.

I'll mic it when I get asec, it's just thick enough that a 22mm atty is protected, won't hang over. Bottle end to battery engraving it's like 0.0750in longer than the width if the battery and the bottle.
That's got to be a misprint.... That would leave .075/2 for each wall if the bottle and battery are touching. .03875 isn't much. Like 2/3 of a mm?

Up next, a 18500 in the thinner style? A Micro Mini. I'm be down for one of those. If that isn't a possibility, then I'm definitely wanting one of these thinner ones.

Personally I like the 18500 as is, it's a perfect size for a shirt pocket, probably my favorite size & weight when out for the afternoon or evening. The 18650's and the 26650 just a bit bulkier so I usually carry them in a Fanny-pack that has a couple cell-phone pockets, and at work I use a nylon digital camera case looped in my belt.

Can anyone ( @Tbev ?) help me out on this one. My mod collects dust; I'm hesitating to use it because it's such an effort for me to press the button down. The shorter black button already made my live a little bit easier, bending the spring, too. But there must be something else I can do (or buy). Help, please.
Mine gunks like crazy from constant juice fingers. I take a soft wire brush on my Dremel and clean the button. Then I have another cleaner bit to do the button hole[emoji12]I have to clean it once every 10 fills or so....

@Doffy No, haven't heard this tip before – sounds good. I'll look around the online shops where I can find one.
Be very careful doing this....a magnet in your pos or neg battery side. When you shorten the throw by that much, when your button gunks, you are that much "closer" to an auto fire position. Been there done that.

You really like those bottles huh? Maybe I'll order them and ship all of these with them, are they in short supply at all or are they easy to get price?
I'd like to get them without the Caps,

I'm assuming everyone would rather have delrin caps than aluminum yes?

I can make them, but if I don't have too them I'm good with that too, what's everyone think?
