To be clear. You want this:

Not this:

That Ti is mine, but I have my sites set on a clear as well. Hard to go wrong with either color really.

Being fortunate enough to have many mods at my disposal, I can honestly say that the LBC has become my go to mod of choice when it's time to...

Public service announcement for lbc and Dna200 users:

.405 ohms will allow you to use the dna200 all the way up to 200 watts. You have 9 volts at your disposal, use them. The Dna200 is not a mech that relies on amperage to make up for the 3.7v under load discrepancy. Running over 80 watts at stupid low resistances puts a huge amp draw on both the board and battery; you WILL blow a fuse. The 200 is rated at 200 watts and 25 amps on the input side of you go past that 25 amp draw the battery will keep up to a point but you will blow a fuse or case the board. Use this calculator. The inner circle is the value that you are looking for, the outer circle is the formula to calculate it.
I = amps
V = voltage
R = Resistance
P = Power or watts

I will have to study the drill charts for both patterns to compare major and minor diameters of each patern.

My experience is fine->coarse generally works, coarse->fine never does.

Drilling larger for a plug or insert is about it. Finding a 10x0.5 insert could be tough. Locking in a plug is troublesome too.

That's kind of what I was thinking although with metric it just might work. Sae coarse to sae fine I wouldn't even attempt it. The issue I'm having now is finding a spec chart that actually has m10 X 0.50. Off to Maryland Metrics.....

Looks like if I re bore to 9mm it will work.

Chowderhead1972 can I get on the list for one of these squonkers and the aeronaut.
Let me know if it's possible.
I will email you to get payment instructions.
The Aeronaut would have to be done on a send in basis (order one and have them ship it to me)

The LBC list is currently open, just click on the doc link and fill in the blanks. Just bear in mind that there is no black option available, and PayPal is no longer an option.

Just to let you guys know I haven't given up on the new varitube 510 with the self adjusting center. I need a connection from the board to the center of the 510 that is flexible enough to allow 2mm of deflection, I think I have a solution but I won't have the parts and tools to make them until Tuesday. Not trying to reveal secrets yet but I think I have it figured out. This will eliminate 2 of the most tedious parts of building the LBC. I'm actually kicking my own .... for not considering this sooner.
Benefit:
No more need to dig out the 7mm wrench and 2mm Allen wrench to change attys
Faster production, perfect alignment when assembling no longer crucial ( as it stands if my soldered connection is off by more than 0.1mm I have to start over)
No longer have to make itty bitty buss bars
No longer have to make the 510 center pin (each one takes 20 minutes start to finish)
No longer have to make peek bushing inserts

Downside:
I spent $2k on a lathe that I no longer need...
None

I'm fine waiting on the new 510 for my LBC #2. Just saying....

Go for it. Metric pitches are a mess. 5 different pitches for 10mm? Absolute mess, worse than British threads.

Easy enough to do a test piece I guess.

PS, that M10x0.5 looks like strip city to me.

Not my choice.... That's what's on the new varitube BF 510. My version uses 10x1

The 10x1 is the standard m10 thread pattern, the m10x0.5 is super specialized that was actually the only chart I could find that had any info about it. The taps are a mother to find as well. McMaster Carr has nothing. Had to go to Msc or use varitube's tap. I'm going to try the bt version and if it's not awesome I will order a few of the $60 msc tap. (Grrrrr).

They will all have the new 510 unless they turn out badly. I have a total of 50 of the new 510 either on order or sitting here. I'm banking on being able to make the flex connection. Hopefully I will be able to ship the first few this coming weekend/Monday.

Understand that it's not your choice. Just seams like a horrible choice.

I thought M10x1.5 was the standard coarse thread per the ISO?
1.25 was the pitch I used to see for fine (though ISO says 1.25 or 1.0)
M10x1.5 ~ 3/8-16(UNC)
M10x1.25 ~ 3/8-20
M10x1.0 ~ 3/8-24(UNF)
M10x0.75 ~ 3/8-32(UNEF)

M10x0.5 ~ 3/8-50 which is a ridiculously fine pitch at that diameter.

Given the cost of taps, thankfully you are working with soft metal.
I'd hate to mess with it in steel, stainless, or Titanium!
