look closely... The air comes in the top and hits a shelf at coil level directing the air directly at the coil. I'm no master of aerodynamics but it would seem the air in the maker would hit at the bottom of the coil and then proceed upward much like the manta but on a larger scale.
I think a manta, much like the chalice 3, is different in the sense that the conduits within the top piece channels the airflow from top down, with the outlet pointing the airflow directly at the coil.
At the scale of an atomizer + the inconsistent pressure from our inhale, the airflow is 100% turbulent flow, not laminar. So without a conduit to direct its path, it is chaotic, and especially after hitting that "shelf", is far more likely to spread in a way much like a mushroom cloud from an atomic detonation as opposed to being directed in a direction.
But heck, I could care less about the physics of it if the flavor is good, [emoji51][emoji51][emoji51].
