Got my copper Tobh in. Been working on sanding the finnish so they blend together. I was worried about a copper taste, but its non existent.

Its a Tobh just prettier.

So of course the difference is one is with tabs and one without. What isn't seen is in the after photo the barrel and cone was sanded too. I use a 600 grain wet/dry pad. I have found that doing a light sanding/polishing provides a smooth airflow, as well as reduced liquid coating in the chamber. Maybe I am just OCD.

So I tore out the triparallel build and went back to the parallel 26 gauge. Really liking 26 gauge in general now.

So I had a new copper TOBH 26650 come in as well as some naturally extracted tobacco flavored juice. Couple days later I end up in the ER with a sore throat so bad the swelling closed off my airway. Never had that happened to me. At this point I don't know what to blame. I cant say it was vaping at all, but the timing has me rethinking.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it doesn't put a damper on your vaping keep them stinkys away!
Having my throat swollen up before to the point I could barely breathe I know the pain your talking about.. but it wasn't vaping related never even heard of a electronic cig before when it happened

Sorry to hear what happened to you, how are you now? did you use any new wicking material?

the only thing i had close to what you were saying was when i built my coils to hot and sat them directly underneath my widebore driptip, on firing it up i think i splatted the back of my throat with hot juice and my wind pipe just wanted to close and i was gasping for breath, not a good situation, wont be doing that trick again!

I went in Monday night (30th) and it just started to pass yesterday. Still painful to swallow, but I couldn't even drink water without it hurting. Been very light vaping as that irritates my throat too. Only thing that was new was the juice, and the copper atty. I haven't used the copper atty yet again, but the juice I have since.

So I am back to vaping again. For some reason sub ohm coils are harder on the voice box than an actual analog cigarette. I had to cheat....4 times :/ I am on a 26 gauge 7/6 wrap @ 0.57 ohms. I am flopping between 0 nic and 6 nic. Official word was that it was a viral infection that caused my sore throat. I asked my DR about the possibility of vaping and she insisted it wasn't related. Going to be a couple weeks before I get back in the saddle pushing the 0.2 ohm coils again.

unlucky :)

i know its nothing to do with it but with you mentioning staying at .5 & not being able to go to .2 yet reminds me of when i couldnt go below .5 on my coils without getting really hot spitting vapour burning the back of my throat all the time, i thought everyone was crazy vaping such hot juice untill i worked out that it was the cotton i was using, after a second boil i was good to go & the extra throat hit i was getting for months was also gone :laugh:

I read on redit that the company refuses to release msds or metal content. I won't vape on anything I don't know. For those that have tried it its not that much better than kanthal

I felt the same way but if they release a msds then what's stoping people from copying there wire and yes gplat is a lot better then kanthal in so many ways it has lower resistance so you can do more wraps cover more surface area without going to high up to blow clouds and it's so my easier to build with way softer than kanthal I don't even have to use a tweezers to fix my coils anymore cause they come out so clean with gplat but the best part is it heats up and cools down way faster than kanthal

DUDE! IT'S THE COPPER SLEEVE I FOUND OUT. Sorry for the caps, but it kinda dissapointed me a bit too with my big copper tobh.

It was amazing like my stainless until the next day around nightime, and my juice starting tasting like melting pennies, it may have been because I drilled mine or something, but I'm pretty certain because of the heat, and acidic juice, my sleeve started to break down.

I didn't get a sore throat, but the taste stuck to my throat, and maybe you have a minor allergy that bothered you (could be the tobacco juice too, who knows). Just thought I'd let ya know man, hopefully they come out with a stainless inner sleeved-copper one soon, because it does look awesome :D.

Nice to see ECF again mates! It's been a while guys! I've been vaping this little build recently, 3/32nd" (waaay wider than I normally do, but I've been liking the dense clouds I get from it.)

I'm not sure if anyone else is or has been doing builds like this, but I currently am running dual parallels made from 2 pieces of wire. One wire is 26 gauge and the other is 28 gauge, 10 wraps on 3/32 screw driver. The build registers at .37 ohm and throws out more vapor than my previous dual parallel 24 gauge coils at .18 ohm. I'm not sure if anyone else has experimented with two different wire gauges in parallel coils, but this is my new all day vape.

If you guys want to blow clouds I highly suggest getting some Nichrome or even better Gplat (pricey but sooo worth it for flavor and vapor, I ended up saving wire because every build I built I was happy with and stuck with it for a week or two...which is a long time for me to stick with one build lol), I feel like all this time I've been "training" with Kanthal, I've had weights on my ankles, because no matter how perfectly or extreme I build the deck I could never get huge competition-like vapor (without taking long 8 second pulls anyway). I actually just got some Nichrome and Gplat in this week and I've been loving it so much, I think I'm addicted to it now.

With Gplat you can basically build bigger coil-cloud-blowing goodness, and still end up with lower ohms, it basically just heats up faster.

Pretty huge coil to be at 1ohm right? Buy a 50amp SonyVT if you get some 22ga Elite, your gonna want and need it!
Dont waste your money buying Gplat when you can just buy ss316L :)

It is SS316L you are safe. I bought 100ft of this on amazon for 10 bucks.
