With that coil in theory yes. A .8 ohm coil on a mechanical will push just over 22 watts. That is without voltage drop calculated. It all depends on build quality, airflow etc. I could blow bigger clouds on my mutation x on my mech mod at .4 ohms better than a guy with a dark horse at 150 watts solely because of how my build was.

Box mods (assuming they're variable voltage/wattage) are definitely a better choice for cloud-chasing than mech mods.

With a mech, you need to build your ohms to suit the "cloud-chasing", meaning you need to build .5 or lower if you wanna really kick out the clouds. With a VW/VV device, you can build .8 ohms and then adjust the wattage to give you the clouds that you want.

I run my OKL-T20 box mod at about 4.5V with a .6 ohm coil in it, and it puts most .3 builds/mech mods to shame.

ETA:

If you're entering competitions or whatever (and let me say straight-up: that's dumb) they usually have rules that only allow one 26650 or 18650 battery device, meaning box mods are generally off the table entirely. Just so you know.

Sure, it's possible. It'd be easier with an even more powerful box. I did a dual coil setup on my Hobo with 9-wraps of 24g Gplat on a 3/32 drill bit (.16 ohm I think) and pushed 80w through it on my Sigelei 100w and it was CHUCKIN!! Could have pushed it harder but it was plenty for me. Lol. About 8 puffs later my living room looked like a vape lounge. Lol

No competitions just for me to have fun at home lol

Would the clouds be about as big as on a mech mod

Oh; you mean a regulated mod as compared to a mech mod.

Yes; 50 watts is 50 watts, whether it is on a tube mech mod, a box mech mod, a tube regulated mod, or a box regulated mod.

The more watts you have, the more cloud you can put out.

If your build ohms is acceptable to the regulated mod, and you can set the regulated mod to 3.7 volts, then you can just try that and get the same as the mech mod but with some protections.

Otherwise you'd have to experiment with higher resistance thin gauge coils and higher voltages.

You definitely can i actually prefer my mutation x on my ivp3 kicked up to 75 watts on a .34 ohm set up prob twice as big of clouds than using it on my mech which would be closer to 52 watts on the mech
don't really like the big box mods I'm a get a Zna 50 looks nice and compact reminds me of my eleaf istick

Edit: never mind just seen a Zna 50 review looks big too but I still prefer over let's say a big Hana box still easier to fit in my pocket lol
