I just got my Whiteout. First let me say I don't give a whit about mismatched panel sizes, or oversize, excessively protruding buttons (particularly the up and down buttons) or about the slightly protruding USB connector.

I am curious as to why anyone would route the output wire from the board to the positive 510 connection twice the full length of the device before it connects at it's intended endpoint.

What I do care about most is that there is a HUGE amount of empty interior volume (which could have been used for a much bigger battery (but wasn't)....and that the width of the thing is such that it's actually painful to hold it in one hand while vaping.

That in effect means that it's one of the first mods that requires two hands to hold it comfortably during it's intended use. I guess that could be called an innovation if one were inclined to give credit where credit is clearly not due.

I'm not sticking up for them, I don't have one so I don't have a horse in this race. As to why so much room is on the bottom, this is what was posted on another site:

"The bottom was suppose to be for a terminal block but they switched it out for the bullet connectors after they ordered the batteries."

Cheers,
Steve

No, my personal values would not allow me to sell the Whiteout to an innocent unsuspecting person.

I'll probably put it in my rebuild work box and use it to do the Balazsk dry burn for Titanium coils.

Damn druckle that sounds horrendous isn't there anyway you can return it for a refund as it doesn't sound very good or practical and given the amount of negative attention I doubt they want more from people that actually got one.
I certainly wish I could but it works fine thanks to the DNA 200 so it's not "defective". I just stupidly bought something that I should not have. I doubt that would be considered a reason for them to refund my money.

$1000 Geez  I am 100% sure some idiot will by that. It could be the guy from Smog selling it to recoup his losses

Thats why i got my m class instead of this :)

To say that the mod looks cheap would be an understatement. I have had 25$ clones that were substantially better quality than this product. Everything about this mod screams that it has been rushed to the market and corners have been cut. Six months wait time and two hundred dollars worth? Really? The clear panel provided does not even stay in place. The quality of the panels on this mod makes my aluminum soap bar holder look like a work of art. Compare this with Wismec rx200 that I purchased for 45$ or the Efusion Dna200 mod or numerous other products that have been released in the past 6 months, cost significantly less and are of much better quality in fit, finish and form factor.

It took 6 months to receive this mod. It took only 2 minutes for these guys to pull this comment off their blog where they welcome everyone to share criticism, comments and suggestions.

Was out shopping yesterday and saw a bloke with one of these I couldn't resist getting a closer look so went up to ask him how it was. He was really nice and happy to chat but that's where his happiness ended as the whiteout was his present to himself for being tobacco free for two years and it was shocking how bad his was the panels looked warped gaps on all sides. His USB protruded by about 2mm and he said he kept catching it while vaping, the screen was tilted not good for a dna200 and he said one of the screws on the panel was stripped. I asked him if he had tried getting a refund and he said he'd mailed them but got no response and was trying other ways to see if he could get his money back but wasn't hopeful. He said he couldn't be the sort of person that would sell it on to someone else even though he said some people on the forum he was a member of had and got back a good portion of their money.

This whole thing has gone so bad for so many people that didn't deserve it I can't see how they come back from this and not sure they deserve too after the way they have handled this and dealt with people that stuck in there to support them.

Ever since I've seen this I'd thought CMT would have been better off with a design more like this. With different front plates and a few dimensional adjustments it would allow for either Lipo or 18650 sled and would make for a nice solid somewhat modular enclosure for at least the Yihi and Evolv boards. Of course not with the battery connector as is shown.

At least vapecige learned (a lot) and made things right. Apart from the awful battery life, the VTBox v2 was a great machined thing. Sold it because nothing beats a reuleaux :D

Funny that CM wants to hire a media manager. I thoght they quickly deliver the first batch and then go out of business. Don't think there is lots of money left or maybe they have a very good sponsor.

Seems like if they want to hire a manager. A quality control manager is what they need. I guess if you aren't going for quality, you need a media/marketing manager. Reminds me of the W C Fields quote: "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullishi..". :p

Cheers,
Steve

after having several dna200s I am happy that I sold them all and that I am back at 18650s. Love the chip but go for the reuleaux if you want a dna200.

What bothers me much more is why there isn't a whole bunch of dna133 devices already out there? They just start to come up... missed opportunities.

Like many others I have been waiting for this "ground breaking" modular device, eagerly watching the CMT/Reddit and the whiteout FB page for delivery updates. Sadly I have now seen the unit which looks nothing like the initial cad drawings with all the added screws, terrible QC, and to echo many other comments regarding how cheap it looks and all the wasted space! I decided to ask for a refund and invest in another mod that I may actually receive, but instead of Roger replying with yes of course you can have a refund I received "The Whiteout is a completely modular device. Every piece is swappable and upgradable, which allows every vaper to create their own perfect personal vaporizer system. Thank you for that Roger but how about you save your marketing spiel for someone who cares and give me my money back!
