Bought a Cloudpor mini while in Nottingham UK. It came with a Efest 3100mah battery. Had it connected to my Macbook air for charging. After few minutes I noticed a electric burn smell, then noticed a popup window on my macbook about problem with the device connected to the usb port. I disconnected the Cloudpor from the computer. I noticed it was quite hot to touch ( there was no atomizer connected , it was just the bare unit with a battery ) Then I noticed the LCD was all garbled up.

I removed the battery and let it cool down for a while. Then reinserted the battery and the unit started heating up again. And again , no atomizer connected and the LCD all garbled up.

Removed the battery and trying to find out if I can return the unit for a refund.

Be careful if you buy one.

What is the number on your warranty card? First whole number = batch like 0002xx
We are trying to keep up with any failures.
Please post any pic you can of the Mod/damage.

You may have purchased an early production unit - which the vendor should have returned or destroyed rather than risk selling.
That said, USB charging has failed on many types of units so no telling why.

Yes the unit is returnable. if any issue in doing so, contact Cloupor directly.

I dont see any damage on the outside of the mod and I dont want to take it apart bc of the warranty.

Agreed, return to Vender. If any problem, contact Cloupor. Sounds like a faulty Charge port issue, but nothing User serviceable.

USB charging - My 1.5Tb 2.5" USB Drive powers from USB(by design)
My 1Tb 3.5" USB Drive has External power(by design)
Knowing this and understanding different power requirements for the task, I choose not to USB charge removable mod Batteries in any device.(my personal choice)
