Perhaps they should include the following warning:

True !
I almost bought one, then the problems started cropping up, so i passed .

It's a shame really, they give vaping a black eye when crap like this happens.

That's too bad you would have loved the mini. There was only a hand full that had a problem. Cloupor will replace those. I love the mini so much I bought 2. What car do you own ? I bet there was a recall on it. Maybe you shouldn't drive too............

Well, after two months of satisfied ownership, I'm sad to report that I can confirm the Cloupor Mini is dangerous. Whilst changing out a battery just minutes ago, after an experimental session with a 25mm Subtank and sub-ohm twisted coil build, dealing with an erratic connection by having the heavy Kanger beauty ring installed, the unthinkable happened...

I dropped it. On my pinkie toe. My pinkie toe is broken.

Good news is, the tank and mod survived unscathed. But from now on, when I vape, and even when I sleep, I'm wearing shoes. Why take chances with safety?

(Seriously, the damned thing did break my pinkie toe. Damn Cloupor and Kanger and their irresponsibly heavy and slippery products)

You mean you dropped it on the toe that goes "WEE WEE WEE" all the way home???!!!

How dangerously irresponsible of Clouper! :D

Well, i have a toyota camry xle, knock on wood no recall.
When a mod has a propensity to catch on fire, it tends to lead me to steer clear for the time being anyway.
Glad you don't have any issues.

billh or anyone who might know. Has Clouper said what exactly the problem was and how they fixed it? Or just that 001xxx no longer has the problem that some 0002xx series had. I scanned the Clouper threads and never saw anything definitive on that.

I can't remember exactly what the Cloupor "press release" stated, something about certain defective chips, but---if I recall correctly---Cloupor implied that the problem was limited to a smallish number of units from two production runs, one of which was 0003. The test suggested was to fire a bare coil at full power for 15 seconds. If the overheating protection kicked in, a unit might be defective. Mine passed with flying colors. I've now ordered a second Mini 30W, also from gearbest ($29.99 shipped with coupon code "clouporminipc").

Did Cloupor waffle or engage in bogus damage control? I didn't see it that way, although clarification from the company did take awhile---a couple weeks passed after the initial reports of serious electrical malfunction in some units before the public release of information.

Clouper also said in that email..."About 0.1%-0.2% Cloupor mini may have overheat or short circuit or some other different defective problems. This may cause the circuit board melted down, but it will never reach to a ignition point to make other things burn, let alone catch fire."

That's comforting. :D

Corrected in Red
No units reported that I can find outside 0002 for melt down issue.
Other typical high production issues have been reported. Charging issue/Screen flakey/etc. Common on many Manufacturers mods.

*We expect Fast action from Manufacturers due to our close involvement, however a few weeks is minimal when considering a Pattern of failure and collection of data is required to assess and make judgment on the proper actions to take.
This is standard in most manufacturing practices. Some Auto makers take Years to correct issues, if at all.

Well, i have a toyota camry xle, knock on wood no recall.
Judge a mod by a Car maker - okay - nothing is perfect

My Cloupor mini's have no issues, however that does not keep me from admitting some have had issues. That is why Batches are run and updates made. Most people also know first year auto releases are riddled with issues. We still look forward to the next release with corrections in place.:)

Fire, ACTUAL FLAMING has yet to be proven. None of the photographed Mods have had Paint damage.(Scorching) I.C. Super heating reaching GLOW, Melting hot glue and Black plastic strip covering Chip set.
