PS a few of you seem set to defend Cloupor here. May I make a suggestion - contact the company and offer to be their English language translator and "voice" so at the very least their communiques can be a bit more clear and straightforward.

Was this even necessary?
Do you honestly think anyone here that owns one wants Cloupor to ignore the problem?

Simply your views/perceptions vs. those of others.

You bring up some valid points. The warnings are out there and a lot of vendors have already pulled the product and are refunding sold units. I say let Darwin sort out the rest. :D

I am a firm believer in Darwin's Law and the concept of Darwin Award Winners. ;)

That said, this isn't a case so much of people doing stupid things, as it is a company that installed a faulty board (or something) in a run of their product.

PS to those saying why am I complaining about the product when I don't have one. A few things:
- I have one on order, and had it on order, paid for and was waiting for it before this talk of the melting / burning defective ones. Hasn't arrived yet.
- All my observations have to do with how Cloupor is publicly handling a very messy situation, and why people shouldn't diminish the potential danger these devices are posing.

Cloupor's Official statement regarding the melting issue:

Cloupor: Best Electronic Vapor Portable Vaporizer Pen Cigarettes Wholesale Manufacturer,

"To Cloupor mini owners:

We are so sorry to bring some customers any trouble during last few days .

To satisfy the huge market , we worked hard for the large production .
And we actually didn’t control the whole quality system very well at that time.

About 0.1%-0.2% Cloupor mini may have overheat or short circuit or some other different defective problems. This may cause the circuit board melted down, but it will never reach to a ignition point to make other things burn , let alone catch fire.

If yours with the above kind of problem ,be free to email us user@cloupor.com

For the customers do not have any problem until now but worry about if yours with the potential overheat problem,
here is a simple identify way:
Connect a atomizer and press the fire button 15s at 30W(just one time) , if doesn’t show "Too hot" ,that’s a good unit.

We’v found the source of the problem and changed the firmware .For the new batch we shipped from last week ,
no this overheat issues.

Tough time may happen to any companies , we believe a positive attitude will make all things better .
Thanks so much for your support ! And welcome any suggestion!"

Could just be lost in translation or a poor choice of word, maybe they meant hardware instead. But then again, a firmware patch CAN mitigate hardware issues depending on what the hardware problem is.

Translation is definitely an issue. These companies do business outside China, yet they don't invest in proper communications. An official statement need to convey trust and restore confidence, poor choice of words aren't going to help their case.

Anybody remember "all your bases are belong to us?"
