I think the important thing to remember here is that the CM has a max current rating of 10A. This means that any battery with under a 10A continuous discharge rating has the potential to be unsafe if the device is driven that hard.

While I'm sure many here know how many amps their builds use, and can size batteries appropriately, it's important to remember that there may be people on here that aren't as familiar with Ohms Law who read these posts and get the wrong idea.

In the end, we all need to make our own decisions as to what we're comfortable with. Personally, I only have LG HE2 / HE4 batteries (and I just ordered 4 Samsung 25r cells). Therefore, I just don't need to worry. For me, it's worth the peace of mind.

The Chart I posted should be helpful when shopping for these batteries to meet your set-up.

Agree. It's a pretty decent chart. It's a bit ambitious for mech mods (0.4 ohms at 4.2 Volts works out to be around 10.5 amps which is pushing a 10A battery a little hard), but overall it's a good point of reference.

My 2 cents battery wise.
I use the Samsung 25r in all my devices with easily replaced batteries. Unbeatable price/performance ratio. I use Panasonic NCR18650BD in mods with pita battery changes. They provide 3200 mah (one third more than the Samsungs at 2500 mah) and max discharge of 10 amps but at nearly twice the price. My vaping is typically one to one and a half ohm coils and 10 to 15 watts. I use AW 24 amp and Sony VTC 2100 mah in my mechs. I wouldn't buy anymore Sony product because of re-branding and the lack of any current production. I have two minis and very much like the one with no turn on delay. The one with the long wake up delay is a bit annoying but still in daily rotation.
Have an excellent day everyone.

My Mini has barely a delay when firing from off. Love it

Because of how I choose to vape I can use Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900mAh and Panasonic NCR18650BD 3200mAh batts in everything I own that uses 18650s. That said, the 3200s cost more per mAh than the others-so I tend to use the 2900s more. I also use Samsung INR18650-25Rs- good batts but for me they're overkill, and their reduced capacity is a slight downside- but their cost per mAh is good.

ETA My 0004 series Mini has a slight delay from wakeup, but nothing compared to, say, my Hanaa DNA30 clone.

From PBusardo's review, the Mini has a .8 sec delay.

Yes, it does.

In my personal experience owning four Cloupor Minis, the 0.8 second firing delay when the display is awakening from sleep is a very minor issue and not nearly the problem I feared it might be. I compensate for the delay by waiting just a bit and then ramping up my inhale, and this has become automatic learned behavior and not a big hassle. YMMV, of course.

Just for the record, when the display is on, firing is instantaneous, with no delay. Once activated (by pressing the fire button), the display remains on for two minutes. If you're vaping at even a moderate pace, you won't experience display shut-off and the subsequent firing delay. I'm a "bumblebee vaper," flitting from one PV to another. I vape on one for a couple minutes, then move on to another with a different juice, so my Minis' displays are usually asleep when I up one of them. As I say, though, I've learned to compensate for the firing delay on that first draw, so it's no big deal to me.

I've switched almost completely to DNA40 devices. I built most of them but I did recently get a VS DNA40 and just ordered a Hana Modz V4 DNA40. So 3 home built and 3 store bought.

The Cloupor Mini has the least intrusive delay to fire from sleep but it's still there and it's something that bothers me. The 2 min to sleep definitely helps. I hardly use it anymore and have stuck with my Evolv mods with no delay ever.

Mine hits after 0netho... Never get to 0nethousand one. :)
Something a lot of people got into the habit of a long time ago rom other devices (probably from carto/clearo days?) is to hit the fire button just a split second before you start hitting it. It was just something we used to have to get used to, to make our PVs work better. Maybe that's working to a lot of people's advantage. That, and letting go just a split second before you're done with your hit (less burning/gunk).

Don't. The 3400 mAh Samsungs are not safe chemistry nor do they have a sufficient continuous discharge rating.

I think those batteries are fine for higher ohm's and lower watts. I used them for ages in my zmax, ego-t mod and evic.

What's funny here is I have an old- but reliable- K Vapor V70 tube mod that continues to fire for a bit after completely letting off the fire button! Don't know if they all did this or it's just a quirk with the one I have (came to me used in a trade). But it got me in the habit of continuing to draw after letting off the fire button- and the habit has continued on all my devices and is second nature to me now. The upside is less coil gunking.

Sure, if the amp draw is lower than 6.8. But they are still of a more volatile chemistry, so they will be more dangerous if something bad happens.

Right behind you...

Not to mention (and it has been mentioned, in this thread, several times!) that extra mAh is sort of a unicorn, performance falls off a cliff on those Panasonics at about half a charge, so amp drain goes up in a regulated mod, and battery life goes down...in the end, they have about as much usable life as a 2500 mAh LG or Samsung.

Remember also that a lot of that mAh is in the range we don't use. Meaning that they measure the mAh from 4.2v to 2.5v (or thereabouts, depending on the battery). But we recharge around 3.5v or 3.2v or whatever, so most of that extra mAh is untouched in our use.

Because of this, there's not much difference in battery life between a Samsung 25R/LG HE2/LG HE4/Sony VTC5 and something with higher mAh like the Panasonic.

In fact, because the 2500 mAh batteries above have a better discharge curve and lower internal resistance than other batteries, they will perform better in the range that we do use, so I'd still recommend them over any higher mAh battery currently on the market, even if you are an exclusive tootle puffer. Plus, the 2500 mAh units are IMR, the Panasonics are not.

After going through several box mods (some still around...some died...some returned...) I decided to get my Cloupor mini too. I brushed away all the thoughts about burning houses/cars/offices (my in laws residence was coming through m mind sometimes too ) and just simply ordered one to replace my defect Gatling 30w.
I have to say I'm a happy camper for now at least. Size and 18650 with a magnetic door is awesome
