Just wanted to give another update. I believe this process would way better with freshly ground. I would also let it sit in the PG for a day as well. I think giving it time to naturally extract itself in the PG without heat may yield a stronger base. The extracts I made was with pre ground Folgers just to test the process. It came out quite good and tasted just like the coffee should. However I really had to bump up the flavor percentages (15%) to get it where I would like it. I think freshly grounding it directly prior to soaking it in PG may even give it a fresher taste. I have some coffee coming in and it will be whole bean. Will let it sit in the Pg as well for 24 hours before I heat it up.

When you grind and soak it, will you be counting on the heat from the fresh roasted beans? If not, then if I went and ground my own coffee up, will I need to just mix the grounds with the PG or keep them in a casing of some kind inside the juice? I ask because I want to replicate your methods.

Steve I havent had a chance to do my ideas on keeping it in PG for 24 hours before I heat it up and extract it. My plans were to ground it up and place it in a bottle right away with the PG. Then let it sit for 24 hours and refilling the PG up as necessary. The coffee will soak up the PG during this time. What Im trying to do is capture the most flavor out the beans as possible. The first time I did it I just nuked it, mixed it and then gave it a hot bath. The extraction worked but IMO the flavoring was a bit weak for my tastes.

Then again i ws just using Folgers pre ground just to test it out. Im sure using whole bean and then grinding it up might yield better results.

So thanks to Hibiscuits I received some very yummy smelling pecan blend coffee. It was very difficult to keep from making a pot of coffee let alone grind it up and pour PG in it :). So as usual filled up 15 ml of fresh grounds and topped it off with 15 ml PG. This time I am letting it sit in the cabinet to let the PG really soak up the coffee. Tomorrow I will extract it for sure and cannot wait. This stuff smells so good !! Good thing I had enough left over to make a pot tomorrow though :).

Here we go with a little more pictures by request!

Ok here is my way of doing the actual extraction process pain free.

IMAG0002.jpg

Just put the coffee filter over the lid like so

IMAG0003.jpg

Attach lid it may or may not screw on if it doesn't it will still hold the filter.

IMAG0004.jpg

Grind the coffee beans really good until it is like a cocoa consistency.

At this point I took the coffee and filled half a 30 ml bottle. I put PG and topped it off then gave it a really good shake. I actually let it sit in the PG for a day. Then I put the bottle in the microwave for 10 seconds. Gave a quick stir and filled a pot of water. I put enough water in to cover the bottle and the extraction inside but not to the top.

IMAG0005.jpg

I then got the water to around 160-180 just enough it is steaming hot not boiling. Let is sit in the hot bath for 40 mins. Twice as long as my last time.

IMAG0006.jpg

After the 40 mins I poured the extraction into the mason jar with filter on it.

IMAG0010.jpg

I then let it sit like this for 24 hours. I did not push on top of the filter to get more juice. You might end up poking your finger right through the filter and dump all the grounds in your extraction. I let it do it by itself so I didn't end up with any particles. I wanted a clean as possible extraction and I think I got it.

Poured the extraction into a bottle and will mix some up tomorrow.

My first conclusion is that I really need to buy more bottles lol. It smells just like the coffee and it makes me want to have another pot. The pecans come through this coffee so well its really good stuff. Cant wait to vape it and thanks again Hibi !!

Finally got 5 minutes to slow down and read this :) I am hoping to have the time to do my extraction this weekend. I recently dried and ground garlic in my coffee grinder. I've used it for a lot of spices, but this is one that has made it a dedicated spice grinder, just can't get the garlic smell out. Bought a new one yesterday, coffee only this time, hehe.

I was thinking of doing a bottle co-op. US Plastics offers a 5% and then 10% discount on quantity, but really once you take into consideration shipping to me, it eats up that discount. They are really cheap, search their site for "Cylinder and Boston Round Bottles with Dropper Caps".

So glad you like the Pecan! If they ever discontinue it I will quit drinking coffee

Thanks for starting this thread my4jewels! :)
I came across it a few days ago. Love all the ideas here. I haven't been able to make a great coffee flavor with any of the DIY concentrated coffee, kona or cappucino flavors that I've tried.
So yesterday I made some coffee extract based on some of the ideas I'm reading here.
I used 50/50 VG/PG, about 30 ml in a 2 oz bottle, with 3 tsp. of my Melitta coffee. Nuked it for about 10 seconds. Then set the bottle in a cup of hot water for about a half hour. Then I strained it through a filter into a separate cup. [ I have one of those single serve coffee brewer gadgets called Melitta Ready Set Joe Single Cup Coffee Brewer from Amazon, that you set over a cup and brew a quick cup of coffee by pouring hot water into the top and it filters through right into your mug. It uses the #2 filters.]
This yielded only about 9 ml of extract due to the viscosity so I it almost filled one of my 10 ml plastic dropper top ejuice bottles. (Next time I'll try straight VG with distilled water to thin it more and not much PG. I find that vaping PG stuff drys me out among other issues :( )

I was too anxious to let it steep LOL and made a batch right away. I put 18 drops of my extract into 8 ml of my 18 nic vg base with a couple drops of EM sweetener. It's delicious just dripping on a 510 LR atty.

Now I'm off to do more experiments with different amounts of coffee and steep time LOL. I might try addding TPA whipped cream :p
:toast: This forum rocks! :vapor:

Toweknee, I know it's a bit off-topic of this thread (which is about coffee extracts), but I'm curious about how the Blondie turned out. How is the flavor compared to the real thing?

Boris I think it came out great. It did need to steep for a month though. I also added some mts to it as well. It just needed some more body and depth to it. Other than that its an excellent vape and tastes just like it.

Hi All,

I wanna ask some questions. By the way im new with vaping and wanna try coffee extract. I really do love coffee flavor. I just wanna know if I can use instant coffee like Nescafe Deluxe instant coffee? And how can i go about if my micro wave is broken, is there any other way? I dont mind waiting for few days if thats the price to pay for having no micro wave. hehehe.

Thanks in advance :)

Oh boy! I found this thread last nite, and have been reading thru it. I have been searching for a good coffee vape, and just haven't found it. So for my experiment I'm trying some decaf coffe to see how it turns out before I start with different flavors. At this time I have my 30ml bottle in the pan of hot water for 20 min. Next will be the straining. I can't wait to try it. You all are way ahead of me, but I'm really excited to get going here. :)
I just hope I can get the coffee out of the bottle after heating for 20 min.

I remember reading that instant coffee was not successful. I have been very successful using storebought ground coffee. It's all my hubby vapes. I make his with Kahlua flavored coffee. Don't be discouraged if the instant coffee doesn't work. Try it with ground coffee instead. I flavor his ejuice with about 12% coffee extract and a bit of EM.
