Coil rebuild

I bought some coils pre wicked, they are made of silica and Nichrome and are 1.8 ohm, 33awg, 4 wick- also bought the same ones with 1 wick... My question is can I use the excess wick for the flavor wick I'm rebuilding protank coils for mini protank 2 and never done it before. If I can't use the excess wick i cut off what should I use? Also I read that people burn the wick and wire or boil them, do I need to do that? I got them from fasttech you can check them out SKU:1476404 https://www.fasttech.com/p/1591604

torching the silica for a few seconds is not a bad idea, as it will help remove any residues from the wick. I personally wouldn't go as far as boiling it and would just quickly torch it.

trimming the long wicks and using them as flavor wicks is a good plan, go for it

Yes you can. 4/5 wraps work real good. With cotton inside coil and that silica on top as taste wick
