I like to store some of my coils in the carpet, honestly. In various states of dishevelment.

Coming across them later can be kind of like an unexpected treasure hunt.

Now I'm on tile, I guess my go to is going to have to be under the couch.

Okay I realize that wasn't particularly helpful unless you are looking for what to RULE OUT.

Rule that one out, probably.

If you want something large enough to store raw wire, tools (cutters, coil builders, tweezers, etc), wicking material, and have a bunch of compartments for the smaller things like pre-built coils, screws, screw drivers, o-rings, etc. then a small tackle box cannot be beat.

Tackle Boxes | Fishing Tackle Boxes & Tackle Storage | Academy

This is the one I actually use:
Plano® StowAway® System Tackle Box | Academy
I keep the larger items up top and all the smaller stuff in the bins below.

If you don't need anything that big, then perhaps one of these:
Tackle Kits | Fishing Tackle Kits, Tackle Kits For Fishing | Academy

What do you all use to keep your self made coils in? I’ve been making a bunch up with different wires and gauge and ohms. Now I need to label & organize them so I can find what I’m looking for.

Suggestions are helpful

Sara
Plastic containers with slots as found in craft stores for storing beads.

IMO, coils should be made fresh, just before use. Like coffee.
Prior to that, I store them on the labeled spool.

Cheers

I’d prefer that too but I have MS and if I’m having a flare it would be impossible for me to make coils. Trying to install them can be difficulty too.

Using this storage method, finding grub screws is less painful on bare feet.

To the OP - I usually don't pre-roll my coils, but I do have a small round candy tin that contains all of my miscellaneous coils.

Another method that might work is one of those daily pill minders. Some have an AM and PM with seven little compartments per side. You could have up to 14 different coil types stored in one container.

What a great idea! And I already have one - well it’s full of pills put coils would be more fun!

Do people use just one type of coil for everything? I like to at the very least change resistance and id depending on atty I’m using.
