You changed the coil since last burnt taste? Once theres some gunk that has gotten burnt on the coil, the burnt taste might stay for a while.

3.7 / 1.7 = 2.2 AMPS of current..... yeah, I kinda think that 2 amps sounds like enough to BURN stuff.

Yeah I replaced the coil.

I don't seem to understand the burn then because I see people vaping even lower than me with no burnt flavor.... Maybe I'm missing something?

This chart says I'm just about optimal for 3.7v and 1.7 ohms:

I depends on what eliquid you are using too; I think a high vg eliq might burn easier that a pg eliq; I'm not sure.

wait a minute; looking at that chart at 1.7 ohm you should go more for 3.0 to 3.2 volts; I'd hardly describe 3.7 as optimal; it's more marginally balanced but on the warm side.

3 volts at 1.5 ohms = 6 volts at 6 ohms = 6 watts.

Aim for 6 watts. follow the middle line from 3volts-1.5ohm to 6volt-6ohm.

with 3.7 to 1.7 that works out to 8 watts; that's 30% higher than 6 watts.

Vivi Nova's need to be tilted/swirled to make sure the coil stays saturated. Maybe the burnt taste is because the coil is getting dry? This is one of the main reasons why bottom coil clearos are so popular now.

I find my self tilting and swirling constantly. I think the issue with bad taste is one of these...

1. Residual burnt grommet in the head

2. The coil is too tight preventing juice saturation

Or...

3. Two pieces of 2mm is to think prevent juice to wick into the head. (The wick going through the coil is long and the wick on top is short to prevent vape from getting into the tank but I keep it saturated too.)

If it Is issue 3 then I could strip some of the top wick off or cut a notch on each side of the rubber head cap.
