if you strangle your wick in the micro style coils they wont work as interned, they should fit snugly not tightly imo anyways
Yea.. I try not to strangle any wicks. Just trying to figure this one out lol
Cut the strip of cotton to a bit less then the inner diameter of your coil as the cotton will swell once liquid saturates it so giving it a bit of breathing space is how I avoid dry hits. What RTA you using out of curiosity.
I look at it as an experiment. I've wicked coils so loose that I thought there's no way that this won't flood and it turns out good. The questions you ask yourself are: Too long? Too Short? Fluff the ends? Keep trying new ways and when you get it just right, post for others and you could be the next Rip. 
Erlkonigin. I should be getting the open draw post Monday which I'm hoping will help.. I can't seem to get this thing right :/ following all the videos and suggestions I've tried soo many different builds
Sounds like I need to use even less wick. I'll follow up when I rebuild tomorrow
Put it down and walk away for a bit. Rethink it before you get to frustrated and decide it's a bad rda. Sometimes, just stepping away might be the answer. Good luck.

lol. I like Rip! He's one of the reasons I keep building. I just wish I had the same money so I could use 3 foot of kanthal for every build.
I tootle vape so I just use about 3 inches for each coil.

I've got an erlk as well and yea, she can be a wicked pita! You really can do it quite easily. Think simple. I go very little wick down the juice ramps and you have to make sure you don't have too much wick at the top edges of the chimney either. Have you tried to read thru the erlk thread?? First post has lots of great links to posts and pics of others builds!
I've spent a lottt of time on that thread.. I'd really like to know peoples go to simple build tho for the best vape. And as far as wicking, the pictures can be hard to judge because they're so up close lol. It's a process, I've half given up on the tank every couple of weeks. Like it for a day then say screw it. It's a vicious cycle, especially because I know if done right it's the superior rta
I think Q's bow tie method is the easiest to master. That's my go to. And yes, when you get it right, an amazing flavor atty!
