If it works, it would be the easiest mod ever!
I'm not buying one though, I already modded my cold heat since I first saw surbitonPete's post months ago, and been sitting in a drawer ever since, (2 big, bulky and heavy for me, but it really vapes great)
ahh you kept that quiet warp, I didn't know anyone else modded one! I suppose it is fairly big, but it vapes so brilliantly, without any problems, that it's all I use, but then I am out of work at the moment and so I don't go out anywhere but I expect if I did I would want something far smaller and more cigarette like to use in public.
I don't go out much either, I work from home, but yes, it is pretty heavy. Having so many lighter options now , i really don't use it.
For lovers of high voltage, It probably is better than the 2 X 3.0v in my opinion. For me, when I want to vape high voltage I use my RS wall wart at 4.5v and 1600 mA, all about personal preference.
I really didn't keep it quiet, I completely forgot about it since I had so much going on with the RCA stuff.
As for a step by step, I find it really hard to do since it is an easy mod and you can have so many different ways to do it. It will fit many kinds of switches, and the connection for the atty has many different ways that can be done. I also left all the electronics in it and both LEDs still work, (the white one in front and the red on top). Also easy to open up since it has screws for that all over the place, nothing to force, break or pull to get it open.
The Weller BP860 looks very promising if it fits the RCA connector with no modification, that would make it the very first mod ever that doesn't need to be modded at all.

Is there a standard RCA to Something adaptor with the proper threading for one or more of the standard atomizer sizes or do you have to make up your own?
I know there's been much talk on this subject. I would search but RCA is too short a word.
My cold heat came in the mail today, still waiting on the 801 battery connectors, then I'm going to give this a go.![]()
I picked up a BP860MP witch uses the same tip as the 645 but has a high/low switch. The connector is slightly bigger in dia then a RCA jack. It will still be an easy mod and no work will be needed with the switch. I will have to get another one because I really like how well it solders, this thing works great. I did make an atty RCA jack but I need a female RCA to finnish it. Soon I will have a coldheat and a weller mod once I get my female RCA connectorsOverview for BP645MP Battery Soldering Iron
Heater is contained in the tip for super-fast heat up Copper tip with long-life iron plating Nickel-chrome plating over the copper to prevent oxidation Iron plated working end is factory pre-tinned with lead free solder Tip cannot be filed as this will damage the tip structure Phone jack plugs into the body of the soldering tool quickly and easily
Confirmed, right out of the box you can plug your atomizer to this model with only an RCA (phone plug) adapter.

This confirmation is only from what I read at Weller's website, I have not tried it myself.
