I think the fact that AVE closed while they were working out their kinks and close when they reach their daily capacity is pretty genius from a business perspective. I'm not saying that the site being down was intentional, but you couldn't have designed a better word-of-mouth marketing campaign. Every time someone posts a complaint on these forums about not being able to get their boba's bounty, and perhaps more importantly, aren't able to find a suitable alternative, creates more and more demand for the product. In fact, when I first started vaping and reading these forums, someone was complaining that boba's had been out of stock for a few weeks which led me check their site prety much every day for a month until I actually got to place a boba's order. over the course of the month, I probably placed three or four orders for other juices on their site. It says something that even the OP paladinx talks about how annoyed he's been because it took him forever to get his order in several months ago, yet he's still going back to the site everyday to put in another order.
I'd also point out that people will keep trying to place that coveted first order, and as long as their orders are processed in a timely fashion, they will likely keep coming back for more. The hype and demand is there and taking more orders than they can handle will only hurt the brand in the long run. Eventually AVE will find a way to increase capacity and have a loyal following that will sustain their business for years to come. Not taking orders just makes the customer want it more. Crappy customer service will make them want it less or not at all.
I had a reminder on my outlook calendar ever since the "Will re-open tomorrow at 8am PST" banner was posted on their new site, and ever day at 11am EST, I long into the site, and on Monday morning, I GOT MY BOBA'S ORDER IN!!!!!!!!! I wasn't actually sure whether or not it went through because I got an error message on the website, but got a confirmation e-mail from Ben. I didn't realize until now that they only re-opened on monday. i guess that explains why my order number was #12....... Sure enough, I got my shipping notification and tracking number yesterday and my package is somewhere in between california and atlanta! Someone asked about the 25% coupon, which I didn't know about, but looking at my invoice, it was applied to my order. That was a pleasant surprise.
Keep it up AVE. I commend you for your business prowess.
