The electronics of a VV or VW mod have built in protection.

The self contained ( ie eGo and others ) batteries are as likely to "blow up" as a mech mod that uses a separate battery. As long as you are being sensible to start with. Both types use the same types of batteries and require the same type of care and caution. As for a battery "blowing up"... if you follow a few safety steps, that is unlikely to happen. Don't over drain and don't over charge... don't over draw the maximum amperage of the battery you are using. The newer high drain batteries can already handle a pretty high amp load... the lastest ones have upped their ability to even handle 30-50 amp loads which makes them even safer in that regard.

If you are using premade atties, clearo's and tanks... it's almost a non-issue with either type. If you are rebuilding, then just be sensible and test the coil before you use them.

Thanks, but im still kinda new to this. I only have vision spinner, Lavatube 2.5, and itaste 134. I'm not too sure that I wanna use a mech yet. I really want to but I've heard that you kinda gotta know how the batteries work and all that. Now that I know that the transformer can be protective using the adapter, I might just have to get it now lol

I actually wasn't suggesting that you do or don't use a mech mod... just that your preconception about the batteries being somehow different or safer in one type vs another was unfounded... they all require the same safety procedures and precautions.

In the end... I recommend what you think is the right type to use.

Personally I like a VW mod with replaceable batteries since the batteries are cheaper to buy than a complete all in one unit, but that is part of my own preference. The VW part.. makes it easy to adjust on the fly if I wish. The down side vs a mech mod are size ( since the electronics take up space ) and being able to sub-ohm if you want ( something that requires the higher end high drain batteries I mentioned ).

So everyone needs to decide what their preferences are before selecting which mod they want.

I wasn't trying to say that you did suggest that I'm using a mech or not. I was just trying to see your opinions on mods that are protected. I'm not that experienced yet, so I'll just stick to my VV/VW mods for now until I learn more about mechs. This site actually helped and told me VV/VW are somewhat safer to use for noobs like me:p
