Comprehensive comparison of the two below kits for new users, when getting started, or to for critical feedback from more experienced vapers. Feedback of any kind is encouraged.
Janty Jet kit: 2 standard atomizers, 5 carts (with see through carve out into the mouth pieces), two 650mah batteries, one USB to wall outlet cable, one standard 110 plug charger, one cheesy bag, and two plastic tip covers, which I'm not sure what they are used for, but I used them until they kept falling off and I lost one.
$84.95 Delivered (Ordered on a Wed. received Friday USPS Express Standard Express Mail-$8.95)
Inferno kit: 1 "LR atomizer", 5 carts W/O see through cut out, one 1000 mah battery, one 650 mah battery, one USB to mini-USB cable, one USB to wall outlet cable, one standard 110 V plug charger, one cheesy bag, and one 15ML e-juice of your choice.
$76.95 Delivered using coupon to offset the 2 day Fedex air (which is very reasonably priced at $7.95) Ordered on Friday around 6 and received on Tuesday.
Component comparison: Before beginning, these are very similar, and the differences are slight, but in my mind relevant.
Recharging equipment winner: Volcano
With the Inferno kit you are able to charge the shorter life batter via a second USB to mini-USB cable they send with the kit, plus the standard charger that comes with all of these similar kits.
Battery winner: Volcano
The Inferno kit delivers you one ultra long use rechargeable battery, and one standard life battery. With Janty, you have the upgrade option to two 950 Mah batteries, but frankly, I've not had an issue with battery life on the shorter batteries. In addition to the larger battery and secondary charging method, the warranty on the batteries, unless I'm misunderstanding is, 1 year. The Jet warranty on the batteries for 6 months. So, you get more power, dual charging methods for one battery, and a 1 year warranty on the battery...Volcano is far and away superior on this category.
Atomizer winner: Janty Jet
Janty sends you two atomizers with their kit, plus they back them with a 3 month warranty. You can order the LR atomizers from Janty, which I believe like Volcano, they DO NOT warranty them unless they are bad out of the cellophane, but honestly, I can't tell the difference between my LR on my Volcano, and my standard on my Jet. So, I'm taking 2 atomizer plus a warranty of 90 days any day of the week. Additionally, the standard atomizer is NOT available as an option through Volcano so no atomizer coming out of Volcano carries a warranty.
Carts: This might seem silly, but honestly, the carts being offered with the Janty Jet have a nifty view slot so you can determine your juice level. It may not seem like much, but this becomes more relevant in a later section.
Instructions winner: Janty Jet
Truth be told, they both suck, but at least Janty puts something in the box that kind of helps. Bottom line, they get F and F- respectively on this category.
Packaging winner: Janty Jet
Does it matter at all? Not a damn bit unless you want to leave it on your coffee table....regardless, the Janty packaging adds a touch of class. I'm not saying the Inferno packaging is poor, but it's inferior to the Jet.
Customer Service: Janty USA is a small operation right now, and I get the impression that Volcano is considerably bigger. That said, though Janty USA's Cecil and Eileen are the better of the two, Volcano's support and service so far is exemplary as well.
E-Juice Winner: Janty Elixer SEE DISCLAIMER
DISCLAIMER TO ALL: I've been wanting a sour apple jolly rancher flavor for some time, and I chose sweet tart from Volcano. It's not bad, but so far my finding on the citrus fruit flavors is that they lack something to be desired. I've tried the Janty Classic PG Apple, but it's so week as to be almost non-existent in flavor. I purchased the Cappuccino Janty PG Elixer and I LOVE IT. Additionally, though I'm a former pack plus of American Spirit lights smoker until recently, I found 11MG too damn strong from Janty, and was offered tips from the US distributor on how to best correct it which was a nice non-greedy way to show customer loyalty. I've mixed Janty classic, V-Juice, and Janty Elixer with NOW brand Vegetable Glycerine and synthetic Wilton's, and I'm a HUGE advocate of the NOW real VG
SAFETY WARNING: USE TRUE VEGETABLE GLYCERINE AT YOUR OWN RISK. I have read that burning true VG produces a highly toxic chemical, but everything I've read has shown me that these models don't get hot enough to create that toxic chemical reaction. I've been vaping my head off for two weeks and I'm only noticing that I feel better than ever, even to the point at night I'm vaping VG with about 1/20th of the Janty Elixer so it doesn't keep me awake.
I'm sure if I'd gotten Volcano's chocolate mixture with vanilla and hazlenut, I'd be singing a different tune.
Also I'm a big fan of full disclosure, especially when I'm inhaling their product. I was told that Volcano's juice was 80% PG, and 20 % VG, but I don't believe that "Glycerine" is VG which is what their 20% is, so I think their staff just needs to be educated...or maybe I do....
Appearance Winner: Volcano
Volcano's unit is just cooler looking in my opinion. I purchased the stainless with black tanks and I think appearance wise, it's just a nicer look, but it's larger than the Jet, but don't get me wrong, the Jet isn't unappealing to the eye, with a matte black finish and compact style.
Vapor Production Winner: Tie
I honestly can't tell the difference between the two. If you blindfolded me, I'd be hard pressed to identify which was which except for the texture of the finish. Again, I have a LR atomizer on the Volcano, so technically, it should produce more vapor.
Throat Hit Winner: Tie
I don't think you can separate the vapor production from the throat hit, but I could be wrong. If I am, then between these two units, it's still a tie.
Component fit together: Janty Jet (But by a narrow margin)
The Jet tanks insert flush with the atomizer, so there is no clear plastic showing. I suspect that the reason the Inferno doesn't is simply because they don't have the same tanks that allow you to see the fluid, so it stops about an 8th of an inch from the the atomizer.
Juice options available winner: Volcano
Volcano wins this by a mile, and while I KNOW I HATE SWEET TART, most people LOVE IT. The availability and size options on Volcano's "V-Juice" is far superior to what's presently available through Janty USA. Janty USA has a limited supply of elixer in PG and VG, and a limited supply of classic still remaining. I suspect that the Elixer is more solid mixture however that may be because I LOVE the capuccino, which I've now mixed with Banana because I got low on the Cappucino, but to be fair, Volcano tells me it is working with the FDA directly on the safety of their e-juice. If that's occurring at Janty, I would think they'd be plastering it all over the place, but in my expansive discussions, I've not heard anything about such discussions.
SIDE NOTE: IF ANYONE HAS A FLAVOR THAT THEY'D LIKE TO TRADE FOR 15 ML OF Volcano V-Juice Sweet Tart 16MG, I'm happy to trade assuming you have a flavor/brand I'm interested in trying. I simply won't use either and I know it. In fact, I'll throw in a Janty classic Apple that is 10 ML 11MG, with the 15 ML of Sweet Tart for anyone with a flavor they don't like so much and is interested in discussing this, send me a personal message.
Overall value winner: Janty Jet (But it's a small difference)
Bottom line, with two atomizers and the accompanying warranty coupled with a strong suspicions that batteries either work well or die within a few days, though I suspect quite a few atomizers are consumed inside of three months, plus the more solid fit together, the carved out tanks showing the liquid, and the longer lasting atomizer availability that comes with the kit, Janty is the way to go TODAY.
As of now, if I had it to do over again, I would stick with the Janty Jet and ordered my liquid elsewhere.
One small parting note: Janty has supply issues from time to time, and Volcano has been very proactive in developing stock, specifically of the battery components which seem to be the Achilles heal of the industry.
Advice for both companies: Offer a juice sample kit option so vapers can decide what they like and toss what they hate and become brand and flavor loyal so they don't have to trade them on the internet before buying a full bottle. Trading is obviously assuming I can find someone I trust, and that will trust me.
Sweet tart is true to it's name. It tastes JUST like Sweet Tarts.
Apple classic, honestly, IMHO, you'll need to add something to it, but if you enjoy Janty Classic Apple, contact me even if you don't want to trade. I don't want either of these, and though I'd like to get something more up my alley in exchange, I'm betting I toss these if I don't get a taker/trader, but I will wait before I commit to giving or throwing them away.
