Has anyone else had this complaint? This co-worker is a pain in the first place! We have our own offices and not a single other person has complained in the 2 years I have been vaping at my desk!

Today she left for lunch as usual an then called in after lunch to say she was not coming back (telling another co-worker that answered the phone) because her asthma was being aggravated by my vaping! We had only been in the office 3 hours and I may have had 5-10 draws on my ecig. My boss brought this issue up in March and asked me to stop vaping in the office for a month to see if the issue went away. I have not heard anything else about this since then. I have reduced my vaping and definitely try to be aware of others coming to my office so that I am not taking a puff when they are in my area. I do tend to sit with the ecig in my hand even when I am not vaping it.

I am really irritated about this as I quit smoking 2 years ago (Aug 1st) and vaping has been the only thing that has helped me do that.

Does anyone know of any facts that I can present to my boss and co-workers that may help educate them as to what is in the vapor I am exhaling?

Thanks, really needed to vent and I know you all will understand!

I would stop "vaping" at work honestly. You must have a understanding boss .. Most would have just said "no more using that ecig" awhile ago.

And the women at work is playing a game with you!! Congrats!! This can be ALOT of fun .. Or not .. Your choice!! http://www.jasonbartholme.com/101-ways-to-annoy-your-coworkers/

Bad co-workers .. I kill them with kindness. The nicer, and bigger I can smile the better!!
Bad part for you is .. Your gunna loose your "vaping" battle at work. So I would quit doing it in your office on your own before they ban it :) Then, when it calms down again, start back up in private.

Honestly, would you stop breathing because someone said your breath was making them nauseous.

Tell your boss that is must be all the PG in the vapor that is causing her asthma to act up and that you will stop vaping when she stops using her inhaler and eating foods with flavorings in them...since those are just 2 of the many things that also include PG.

My boss had no problem with my vaping until I told him one day that it had nicotine in it and ever since then he constantly complains about how the vapor makes his sinuses act up...so I told him to go eff himself as I floated a giant cloud across his desk! I wouldn't recommend that though, we have that kind of relationship so I could get away with it lol...

That is something I WOULD try. Tell them there was something in the juice that did it and you FINALLY figured out what it was .. Ordered new juice .. And problem solved. You give someone a sugar pill it may cure cancer .. Never know!!

BTW - If I were your boss I would have fired the lady who wanted the day off. If not for that, for something else :) I HATE people calling into work wanting a day off .. "Nope .. You have bills im doing you a favor by not giving it HAHAHAHA youll thank me on friday when you receive that nice check!!"

I like your idea! I could tell them it was something in the juice!

I don't know if my boss knows that she called in after lunch, since the boss is out of town at a seminar. She won't be back until Wednesday, however, it does seem like this co-worker calls in sick at least once each time the boss is out of town......hmmmmmmm

Thanks! I knew I could count on you to at least kill the temper that was brewing.....hehehe

I like the ideas....just hard to get away with it here. There are only 6 in the office on a regular basis. Any problems with her office equipment and I would have to be the one to fix it as I am the 'office manager'!

Learn to stealth vape, I have never been confronted for my habit. I'd recommend rearranging her office space daily, it really gets to people.

I concur. I would move my CEO's supplies around his desk and he would ..... about it everyday lol "why is my stapler over by my mouse!!" it was a great 30 seconds each morning lol

I have been stealth vaping since March when I was asked to 'go outside'. It just so happened today, I found that there were fraudulent charges on my debit card and I was on the phone with the bank at the time she came into my office and I was vaping while talking to the bank.

I would love to do some of those annoying things to my co-workers (not just this one)! I am mostly disappointed that she doesn't come to me about it. I thought we had a friendly work relationship but she NEVER has said a thing to me! At least I had enough respect to tell her that the candle burning in her office was setting off my allergies! Just expected a little more professionalism and respect.

If you are the office manager just fire her lol...tell them that she ripped one in your office and gave you pink eye! Then you can tell them that some hospitals have been using PG, the same ingredient in your vapor, in their air duct systems to help clean the air and that your pink eye could have easily been avoided had you been able to vape in your office.

People like that are the same people that spend 5.47$ at burger king and want to be waiter-ed on with free gold silverware and sparkling water. And if it's not that way, they eat the food then complain about everything and want it for free.

When my son was young he had asthma symptoms, they never classified it as asthma and he outgrew it I guess, but when he had the symptoms certain smells would trigger it. It could be possible I suppose that it might trigger an attack, but it sounds to me that it was more a case of a convenient excuse to not come back to work that day.

It's the ozone + plastics from the copy machines and laser printers....... ;)
Tell boss (s)he'll have to have them removed due to HER (co-worker's) asthma.

Seriously, I really try to not vape where I can't smoke. I can't say I've never stealth vaped, but I don't "make a habit" of it. Try lozenges or some such between breaks.
