conductive glue

Has anyone attempted using the conductive glue/adhesive for gluing wires into the smallest tiniest spots that you just can't reach a soldering iron into? I was considering using it since I have some laying around from when my girlfriend was gluing a piece back into her computer. I'm doing a mod and the item that I want to use has a small hole that I have to get a wire into and I can't solder in that tiny space and can't see how it's even humanly possible so was wondering if this would be a good enough way to connect wires in this tiny spot.

A single typical alkaline AAA battery is a waste of time.

Given how PG breaks down most adhesives, I wouldn't place much confidence in the stuff. Maybe if you could seal it entirely in epoxy.

Wire glue has a very high resistance compared to a solder joint and so may introduce additional unwanted resistance into the circuit. In fact, I use a homemade version of wire glue to make resistor discs to convert 6v to 5v in my Chuck.

My gut instinct is that for such a high current/power circuit as an e-cig, this wouldn't work well, but I've not tried using it for this purpose, so I can't say for certain.

I'm just chipping in to say that the conductive glue doesn't like high temperatures, is very brittle, and contains... things... that I have no interest in inhaling when heated.

For less than $50 a good, precision(size) and controlled(precision temp) soldering iron can be had. Buy a little helping-hands vice thingy too.

Sadly I have more soldering irons than I can count on both hands. And part of that is due to the new RoHS crap. I can't cross-contaminate.

A pair of visor style stereoscopic magnifiers, while extremely geeky, are very very handy. Either that or good safety glasses and uncorrected extreme myopia! (When working with SMD stuff, without my 30x microscope, I've been known to pop a contact out and give it the old bare eyeball. Then again I am -7.00L -7.50R so YMMV.)


Conductive glue is good at one thing. Very very good for repairing rear window defroster wires! And now that you know this, you've been forced to go out and fix those damnable things!

1 AAA battery? That's not going to do you any good.
