its not that SE's PV's are not FDA approved, its the way SE labeled their products as "safer" and as a means of cession of smoking
so being approved by the FDA and catching their attention by making "medicinal" "claims" are two different things....

hopefully i'm answering what your asking since i just took forgranted your relating this to the SE vs. FDA suit

Pigelty, no, there is no ecig that is currently FDA "approved".

Some sites have skated close to the truth with their language, that is, saying things like all ingredients are FDA approved (which is true when you look at each ingredient separately, but quite misleading in context).

Some sites mention being FDA "registered". In JC's case that is perfectly true, but does not mean FDA "approved". I don't know what Greencig's site claims, specifically.

So everyone else didn't follow the law.

Registration has nothing at all to do with approval.

If SE/Njoy prove that ecigs are outside of FDA jurisdiction, I dont think people will need to register with the FDA. If e-cigs are in the FDA's jurisdiction...well registration is a moot issue.

I just read that SE is now adding vitamins to their carts.

From what I understand, caffeine energy drinks do not require FDA approval because they throw in a few vitamins which technically makes them a 'health supplement'. This, despite the fact that teenagers have actually died as a result of chugging a few too many of these 'supplements'.

Am I understanding this right, and if so, would adding vitamins to ecigs not make them just another 'health supplement'? hmmmm

Am I off track or is this a loophole?

NO as long as there is nicotine they can pull it off the shelf, nicotine is a drug. I remeber last year when I was looking at the nic gums there was a vitamin with tobbaco in it. It was to help you quit smoking. Even though it contain a crap load of vitamnis and minerals plus herbs to help clean you out faster, plus it was tobacco not nicotine they FDA still pulled it. I was going to try it but wanted to do some research on it. The following week when ready to quit smoking again it was gone. Asked to see if when it will be back and they said nope been pulled off for safty reason. It was a vitamin suplement/and tobacco.

Nicotine has been demonized because of association with its extremely dirty delivery device....and unfortunately, unless there's a radical shift in public perception (riiiiight) always will be. Those radical shifts might be accomplished with the new head of the FDA, who does understand harm reduction, but still....its going to be a long, uphill battle.

I agree, nicotine SHOULD be in the same class as caffeine, but I'm just one small penny in the national vault

Ok, I guess that explains why they pulled the nic drinks.

I keep thinking of ways to get around all these stupid laws that are founded only on greed.

One thing I was wondering: I smoked a hookah when I visiting a friend last weekend. I really didn't like it - prob b/c it was bubble gum flavored - but I was thinking about ecigs and looked up the price of hookah tobacco and it seems quite a bit cheaper than regular cigs - would it be feasable (as in easy, cheap enough and a way to beat the system) that if eliquid were to become unavailable, to extract nicotine from perfectly legal hookah tobacco?

I have read in here about extracting from nic gum...what about nicotine inhalers of any use for an alt source of eliquid?

ok, scratch the nicotine inhaler thing. I read up on it in another forum and I get that it wont work. But I didn't find anything on nicotine nasal spray. I may have just missed it though. Now I'm having delusions (of grandeur from having outsmarted the enemy lol) of dripping the nasal spray into a cart and at the same time letting my insurance company foot the bill.

Somebody stop me before I wear myself out coming up with alternatives.

Sorry...my "talent" has always been is making something out of nothing, (aka trash to treasure) so it's just my nature to try to find a way around things.
