Confused With The Different E-Cig Models

I've emailed Toby. However, after doing some searching, it does indeed appear that the 901 charger works with the 808 battery. Hopefully I was right in assuming this also means that it will work with the Volt batteries and therefore my 901 PCC will also work.

Still waiting for a reply from Toby, but I've gone ahead and ordered a small white Volt battery because it will probably take a week or so to get here. Will probably purchase Cartomizers and other accessories off Toby's site in the future but, as of yet, they don't offer the white Battery.

901 and KR808 are the same connection with one difference. The KR808 cartos need an airflow channel that you'll see on the KR808 end of the adapter (and on KR808 Battery connection). There isn't that cut on a 901 battery.

Current = voltage / resistance

Batteries rated in mah mean that the battery can supply that load for one hour when fully charged. If we turned on our ecig with an Ego battery at 1480ma draw and left it sizzling, theoretically it could do that for a little less than 1/2 hour (actually .43 hours ... 650/1480). Since we hit it periodically for about 4 or 5 seconds, the battery lasts much longer. The total time vaping would be about 1/2 hour before the battery blinks and dies. That usually equates to about 5 or 6 hours of typical vaping with an Ego 650mah battery.

If you do that with a standard 510 battery, 180/1480= .12 hours or about 5 minutes. In an hour or so, your standard 180mah 510 battery is dead.

3.7v / 2.5 ohms = 1.48 amps or 1480 ma

Power (watts) = voltage x resistance

3.7v x 2.5 ohms = 5.476 watts

Was anxious to test these out so put in an order with Liberty Flights a couple days ago and today received 5 blank 808 Cartos. The others were going to take a few more days or longer to get here so thought I'd test these Cartos beforehand.

At first was confused as to why they fitted the 901 battery perfectly but then realised the 901 to 808 adapter I bought was essential for the airflow. So far I'm quite impressed with these and get a nice amount of vapour and a nice taste. I realise the Volt Cartos are considered better, so I'm looking forward to them arriving.

Just out of curiosity Hellen, which device is your main one that you use? And Dave, thanks for the guideline there about the battery life I should be expecting

Good to hear you're getting on with the 808 cartos just fine.

I've tried about every model out there... lol Mostly since I'm almost 3 years in vaping so I've seen quite an evolution in atomizer models, batteries and mods. Hanging out on the forum is a bad thing... you see new stuff, you end up buying it. LOL It's been everything I can do not to buy a Volt. They get great recommendations for a small e-cig though, so I have no problem recommending them to someone who's just getting into vaping. If I was just starting, that'd probably be what I'd get that replicated a ciggy in a small size. Now, I don't care about size (for e-cigs )

I'm using a few things these days, but mostly variable variable voltage battery mod units for the battery. Adapters make it so I can use any atty or carto. My main is the Darwin variable voltage mod with a 302 penstyle atomizer (very similar to an 801, but has a low bridge) and I drip with it (no cartridges) and have drip tip mouthpieces to put on the attys. I also like the 510 Sapphire Bud tank atomizers. Just tried one a while back and I'll be ordering more of them. I like the Pump Carts for the 510 atomizers as well. Both of these are from GotVapes.com

I'm also using Boge 510 cartomizers lately. Started off using them in a Liquinator tank and have it on a Buzz variable voltage mod, but the cartomizers only perform well for a day or two submerged like that in a tank (for me), then the flavor gets bad but I haven't been able to figure out why (almost washed out). Punching holes in the cartos or using a Dremel to cut a hole through the metal casing is also a PIA. Do love the cartos though. I mostly use the Liquinator tank when I know I'll be in the car for over 20 minutes driving.

By the way, a Tip I learned on the forum for cartos is putting a wooden toothpick in the center hole of the carto when you are topping it off during the day helps keep liquid out of the center tube. I keep toothpicks everywhere. It speeds things up so you aren't messing with blowing them out afterwards.

Haha sounds like you have a very nice setup going on! I'm guessing it involved a fair bit of trial and error to reach your optimum setup? At first, did you only want a smaller/more cigarette like device? Maybe when I've been vaping for as long as you have I'll begin to move up to a bigger device. In saying that though, I arrived home from work today to find a highly anticipated package from SmokelessImage waiting for me

Opened it to find 3 pretty looking cartridge boxes wrapped with bubblewrap. So thumbs up to SmokelessImage for the care they take when sending out orders. That alone puts them in a high esteem in regards to customer service (which I've heard from others is very good). When it came to trying out these cartridges, I wasn't expecting them to be quite as good as they are. I went into it with high hopes but the difference was like night and day! I'm not sure if it is the e-juices I had been using previously, but they had never tasted anywhere near as good as these Volt cartridges. Really really impressed, especially since I am temporarily using them on a standard 901 battery and from what you have told me, I should expect better performance with the Stock Volt battery which should be arriving sometime this week!

I bought the Strong Sampler, Smoother Sampler and the Sweet Sampler so I could test out all the flavours and know which ones to get on my next order. Pretty much all the flavours were nice and had great throat hit and vapour. I'd even say it was better than my Ego-T, and certainly better than the 808 Cartos I purchased the other day (but this could be due to the liquid I was using and the way I was filling them. Either way, they are nowhere near as intense and yummy as these Volt Cartos.

So all in all, I'm very happy so far with these Volts and can't wait to try them out on the Stock Volt battery. I just hope they continue to be as good even once I fill them up with my own liquid. Thanks to everyone for the advice, and I definitely recommend these to a new vaper, or even a seasoned vaper.

Great news! So glad you like the Volt cartos. Hope you'll continue to update as your new items arrive.

Since I started out when only small e-cigs were available (the 510 model had just come out when I started vaping). I started off with the Smoking Everywhere mini cig like most people back then. Quickly got rid of it and bought a penstyle 801 kit for $50 USD. It wasn't unheard of for a Janty Kissbox (the first manual button e-cig) to be priced at over $134.95 USD. The penstyle I first bought does work quite well (and I still use the penstyle 801/302 atomizers) so I didn't do much trial or error... I've pretty much followed the wave of progress. LOL The invention of adapters allowed me to try a large variety of atomizers/cartomizers without spending big money for full starter kits (though I do have quite a few).

I also belong to a Vaping Social Group locally (I started it here on ECF just over 2 years ago )... I see and hear much about new products and liquids in person from our members, so I let them beta test the new stuff. Haha. It really would be worth your searching for a group near you. Having people who can mentor you and answer questions in person is wonderful.

I think there was only one battery mod available at the time I started (Trogg's Screwdriver) and plenty of great trail blazers in the modder's forum here quickly changed that. My first mod was from Thagbuilt (called the Fog Log, he later made the terrific Chuck and Little Chuck, of which I have both as well), and I won the Fog Log on the forum. It takes an 18650 battery and I still have it. I got that about 8 months into vaping. That changed the vaping game entirely for me. Longer battery life, and stronger voltage. I think I've had about 16 different mods. The size of them became secondary... I just want great vapor and long life. Variable voltage is where I settled into (Darwin and the Buzz). It's wonderful. Next thing for me is a VV bottom feeding box mod (Reos Mods Grande VV, due out around December). I'll use 510 cartomizers on it.

Go slow... try to enjoy that you are having good luck with what you're using before jumping into something new too quickly. If you do decide to upgrade again and need help, just post here, or send me a PM. Happy to lend a hand.

After a couple weeks with the Volt battery, I thought I would give an update with my thoughts of it. I was expecting a big improvement over the 901 battery but to be honest it performs similar. The fully charged 901 battery actually seems to improve better than the Volt battery for a while until the power drops off. However, the Volt one seems to be more consistent and I'm still very happy with it. Currently refilling some of the Volt Cartos with my own juice and they're still performing well. The Volt battery also works on my 901 PCC but I had to sand down the PCC a bit so the lid would close more (Still not fully closed but better than before). So overall I'm very happy with the Volt.

I'm looking to purchase some more Cartos in the future and one more battery. I see SmokelessImage are now offering a sealed automatic battery. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Sealed Automatic Batteries - Accessories
Does anyone have any experiance with these? And is the "drag" as smooth as the normal ones or are they a lot more stiff to take a drag on?
