[This question may already have been answered somewhere in this subforum, but there are a lot of posts to plow through to find it.]

Can I connect the Puresmoker USB passthrough directly* to a wall outlet?
* using a USB-AC adapter, of course.
Is there any danger? Potential damage to the passthrough? Impact on the vaping experience? [For example, some people have complained about a burnt taste and/or overheated atomizer when using this highly effective passthrough. Would this aggravate it?]

The reason I ask is that (because the smell is bothering my wife) I am doing all my vaping on the patio (away from my desktop computer). I'd rather not have to lug my laptop out there every time I want to vape.

Yes, I know I can connect to a mobile power pack (e.g., APC or Kensington), but, at the moment, funds don't permit my purchasing both.

Thanks!

I'm using a COBY adapter purchased from Amazon. It provides full current and powers the PureSmoker PT to full potential. Recomended!

I also have a very well built Belkin power strip that has two USB outlets. These are equipt with some kind of protective circuitry that cuts out if too much current is drawn. It can power the typical Chinese PT's, but the PureSmoker PT apparently draws too much current and the Belkin shuts down. Not recommended.

Duh - directed at me! That's the same plug that came with my first KR808D-1 starter kit.:oops: I'll try that one first.

Now I just have to convince my wife to let me spend another chunk of money (to buy the passthrough) on my more-expensive-than-expected hobby/indulgence/nicotine-inhaler.

Thanks all!

I have the apc power pack and that also would not power my ps passthrough. One more question if I may, is the wire that goes into the passthrough through the front of it supposed to moveable? Cause if I move it back and forth/twist it a lil bit it will move/twist, is anyone elses like this? Cause I don't want it to over twist and break any connections or whatnot. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I hope there is no general issue with using my iPhone 5v 1 amp wall charger, because that's exactly what I intended to use. Anyone using this successfully with the PS PT? It worked fine on my cheap Chinese 510 PT.

As stated earlier in this thread i have been using my iphone charger to power my PS PT.

has anyone had any problems with their kennsington power pack using the PS passthrough? my kennsington works fine with my cheap manual passthrough but when i use the puresmoker passthrough with it, it goes dead after maybe only 10 minutes. thats even after making sure i charged it for a few hours. its happening every time.

not sure if it could be the power pack cause it works with with the other passthroughs i have and it lasts all day. this will be a big let down for me if i cannot use the kennsington with the super passthrough that puresmoker has made.

any input would be great....thanks

Indeed you did, illspeed...sorry. I guess a better question would be "who else if anyone may be having problems with it?". Though I suppose it's not a huge issue, really. It's not like a decent dedicated power source costs any appreciable money even if it didn't work.

justchkn ... any power you feed to the atomizer, it will take and devour ... whether that be a standard 2.0 slot in a PC, a wall adapter, or a PowerPack. I haven't personally tried it on a power pack, but the amount of power it pulls wouldn't surprise me in the least .... i plan to get several different types of usb packs (ranging in mA) to see what holds out the best! Sorry I couldn't help further
