hey Cash thats alright. just using it on the laptop for now i guess. but if in the future you do try out some different power packs with it a new thread would be great on which ones perform best. ( just an idea)

this passthrough is built tough though. at least i dont have to worry about the wire breaking on the end as all my other cheap passthroughs. and i dont have to stick a small piece of cut pencil erasor in the hole to stop liquid from getting in. great work on something that seems will surely last a long time.

This thread has broadened since I started it. And that's just fine! My fairly narrow question was answered quickly. [BTW, I have since ordered the passthrough.]

I believe Parked has successfully used the PT with the APC. See his YouTube video review, "Parked's Review APC Mobile Power Pack PureSmokers USB Passthrough e-cigarette Battery 901 & 801" [I can't enter a link using my Blackberry.]

The only concern I have about the direction of this thread is the participation of Mr. Puresmoker. Why are you frittering away your time posting here? Get back to work! I'm waiting for my PT! :)

:)

I'm thinking that's the old usb passthrough Parker was using in his review, not the monster one that Steve's just developed. :)

APC works GREAT for me :)

What kind of runtime are you seeing with the APC and the USBPass?
And with which atty? The PT should be using over ~1.5A, more or less depending on atty in use. (which is 3x or so a normal USB2 port on a computer..I'd expect it *may* offline some USB2 ports, others will do fine, possibly likewise for some USB packs or wall chargers..).

i have not had any success with four different apple oem iphone usb ac chargers (old and the new green dot). in theory, 5v/ 1amp, they should work...but no luck on my end. i suggest, if you already have one, try it out...but do not go out and buy one specifically for use with the new ps pt.

on the other hand, i use this belkin usb car adapter and it works just fine:
    IWCatProductPage.process

i don't know if input is an issue with the iphone charger, but that's the only rating that sets its 5v/ 1amp measurements apart from the belkin car charger. so i'm now waiting on a belkin usb wall adapter with exact same specs as the car charger to see if that will do what the iphone charger can't.
    IWCatProductPage.process

i'll report back when i get it and try it out. btw, ps pt does not work on my usb ports or non-powered hub either. this thing is a beast, but if you have what it takes to power it you're in absolute vaping bliss!

I use both the Kensington and the APC battery packs with my PS PT for the 901. The Kensington only works for a short time even with a full charge but I've noticed it's more like it tripped than ran out of power. If I plug it back in for a charge even for just a few seconds it resets and goes back to full charge. It's only a bother if I'm away from home. If I'm going out I take the APC.
