The title says it all. I'm not happy with the flavor and wicking of the Vivi, but everything else is great. I love the draw (not sure if it's considered tight or airy or what). I would like to get a genesis with a similar draw but tastes better. With that said, there are a ton of styles and I'm not sure which is right for me. I do like a see through tank so that I know my juice levels.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Note: To me, the taste is weird/bland/non-existent on draw and mild on release.

IMO both are rebuildable but the Vivi is also a repairable component system that if you don't fill like buying the wick and wire and going to the trouble of rebuilding you just replace the atty on the top. I like the Vivi. I wish it had a glass tank but that is my only complaint. With a genesis type you can't tell how much juice is left and you are stuck with only the rebuild option.

Oh I found Vivi attys for as low as $1.99!!!!!!!!!

I'm probably going to get a DID clone first to see if I like the genisis before I drop alot for something I may not like.
That's what I'm thinking, too. I'm happy with the results I'm getting rebuilding the Vivi Novas, and I'm not sure if I'll like the fact that most genesis tanks need to be kept upright to prevent juice leaking. I bought the Novas strictly for the fact that they never (or rarely) leak.

I bought a cobra several weeks ago and I really love mine. My first mesh wick and coil went really well. About two weeks later had to replace the mesh because my coil was to tight and burned through it (at least from what it looked like) and wasn't letting me recoil very easily. This time it didn't go so well, took a lot of patience and work, plus a third wick, but now it is working great again.

I also use the novas and have rewicked them with U-Shaped mesh wicks, I feel they give the better flavor for me. Only problem is they can be quite fiddly because of shorts and such, but plenty of tinkering and once you get it going it works great. Still pretty new to this myself so should get easier in time.

Good luck, the cobra is really nice. Made of titanium, so light but sturdy. Small air hole (I believe 1 mm) gives a tighter draw which I like, tighter then the novas. Also the dual o ring is really nice, fits snug and if to snug it loosens once some liquid is on there, and it allows you to adjust the throat it to your preference, and the top doesn't seem loose can easily pick it up by the top cap without worry.

P.S. I have also been looking at other atomizers and the only other that has caught my eye is the bliss, they will also be coming out with a titanium version but it is more expensive then the cobra. Right now if I was able to pull the trigger I would probably just go for another cobra.

What ever you buy use the drill bit trick to wind your coil first and install then slide wick thru. Tried six times on 2 Griffins with little success then used the drill bit and their perfect. Now I want a cobra or did since these work so well. Also I like the 28 wire more vapor and better flavor. The did clones are small and hard to work with big arthritic hands, hopefully the did or cobra will be easier. They are somewhat bigger . Still love my viva novas for their ease of use and no leaking and they are simple to rebuild. Good luck.

yes the did is much easier to work on the the clone. i have had two dids for about 5 months or so. decided to try the cheapy dud and returned it after a day. so if you decide to try a dud and you kind of like it then you definately will love the real one. definately 28g has better flavor than the 32. it works great on the did.

I am torn between the did and the Cobra, don't want to wait for the ac9 although it looks fantastic. I think i have finally got perfect coils and wicks on 3 Griffens but still seem to have a metallic taste. Cleaned everything well before assembly, hopefully it will go away . I am really happy with the viva nova and they rebuild easy would hate to send 150 for a good cobra or did and still have the metallic taste. What to do,what to do?

lBack to the guy who posted the thread I kind of got off the main subject. you must get yourself some vision viva novas they have great flavour tons of vapor, don't leak and come with 3 different ohm heads if you have vv all of them work great and they are easy to fill. I have 8 of them and really don't know whay I want a cobra or did.

Try the clone,It works as well or better than any of my more expensive geni attys at 1/5 the price. As far as leaking and not knowing how much juice you have, please see the photo below,do you see a puddle and can you tell how much juice is in those shown in the photo?
The most important thing to remember is that 98% of the advice on these forms is bad or misguided info.

here is my opinion...

taste has and always will be subjective... the ONLY way to know if a genesis is right for you is to TRY IT!

buy a cheap one to see if it is right for you. a DID clone will run you a bit more than a VIVI. if you like the taste then your set to spend a ridiculous amount of money at whatever you want. if that doesn't sound appealing, just use the clone or go back to the VIVI.

all genesis tanks work on the same principal, the only difference between the two is material and the way they are manufactured.
material may make a difference in current flow but you probably couldn't tell the difference unless your a veteran vaper. if you know how to make a coil and wick, it really doesn't matter what kind of genesis style tank you put it in... it will work the same.

buy a cheapo and play around with it, then once you got the hang of it get the one that you want based on the knowledge you have learned from playing around on the cheap clone. or get whatever you think looks "pretty".

I know what i said may sound repetitive, but if it keeps ou from buying something you will regret, than i have helped.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I recieved a cobra today. Damn work... It is sitting at the house ready to use. I will try it tonight and see how I like the gens. If I love it, I may try a few others and pick my favorite. Also, probably getting rid of 2 of 3 ego twists, they are nice but don't compare to the provari. Also, the provari is much more travel friendly than I would have expected. I find the added weight and size helps it stay upright in the pocket. Looking to get a provari mini to complement it.

18 days in and 13 cigs vs 500 + 10 days clean :). I really appreciate all the help I have gotten here after 8 years smoking and at least 10 times trying to quit. This is by far my most successful attempt and at this point I feel confident its going to stick.

keep at least one ego as a just in case battery.

I've had many instances where i did not feel comfortable taking out my nice mods, and worry about loosing it. Travelling abroad or those drunken partying mishaps.

one eGo and a carto, with a 5ml bottle. made me a happy camper during a new years eve downtown shenanigans night. :2c:

This is the best advice on this thread. Highly recommended. And yes, much of what I've read seems to come from hearsay instead of personal experience...

...Comparing Vivi Novas to Genesis RTA's is comparing apples to oranges. If you're willing to put the time in to learn how to use a genesis system, it is totally worth it- In my opinion, when they're set up properly, they require less maintenance than the Vivis, work better, taste better, etc.

However, if you're looking for the same "feeling" you get when you draw on a Vivi, you may be in for a surprise when you finally do make the jump to rebuildables: The vivi has a hot draw to it, while every single genesis system I've used has a cool-but-dense draw, with varying amounts of airflow based on the size of the hole. Because the air is not all forced to travel "through" the coil, it doesn't get as hot on the whole.
