US Citizenry -- if you want to write your CongressCritters but don't have the addresses,

House Representative (1 per your district) contact information can be found by putting your zip code into: https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml

Senators (2 per your state) contact information can be found by selecting your state at: U.S. Senate: Senators Home

Please note that Congressional representatives (House and Senate) typically only accept email from constituents. If you are not in their state/district, but want to contact them to voice an opinion (Leaders Pelosi or Reid for example), fax them - also listed on their contact page.

SJ -- if this is not appropriate for the new Campaigning forum intent -- please reassign.

would it be helpful to have a form letter that shows our appreciation of e-cigs and also provokes a personal response from our representatives? I guess what i mean is we need a gauge of who is and is not onboard. that make sense? I'll see if i can whip something up this weekend.

Sounds like a plan. A form letter sure would help me. I hate sitting down and trying to figure out what I should say and what I need to leave out when it comes to important issues.

Thanks Dusty.

For a simpler one step lookup for all your elected officials, Roll Call magazine has a great form (since I can't post links yet, it's congress dot org then click on Officials at the top of the page).

When writing letters, always customize. Hill staffers can spot form letters a mile away and quickly send them off to the "generic response" pile. Also, while facts and figures are great, nothing compares to personal experience. If you want an elected official to "go to bat" for you, they love having actual experiences to use. Just listen to any official argue and you will hear so many say "my constituents".

Give a letter enough of a personal feel and that special "bang" greatly increases the chances of your actual official seeing it and not some intern/staffer.
