Hi all!
I'm a 69 year old man, and still reeling from the official crash of my lungs on my birthday a year ago. Worst breathlessness I've ever known. After 6 days inside, on Prednisone and Antibiotic IV, I though that I would now resume being the dashing singer/ guitarist I had been for 50 years prior.
FUGGETABOUTIT. Am now on my second course of the same meds. due to back to back episodes.
Since then, I've had to make friend with terms like 'flareups', exacerbations', 'progression of the disease', and' accept it'.
Who me? is the question that flits across my consciousness, but the answer, sadly is 'yes, you, twerp'! 55 years of chain smoking, the last twenty filled with roll ups and the crazy search for good fresh tobacco, papers, filters, rolling machines, and the horror of ash everywhere, in the car, under the computer desk...everywhere.
I quit on the 4th of March, 2010. Commit lozenges the only thing that helped, so, naturally, I'm now hooked on those little pearls of Madison Avenue's cunning hooks!
Drifting, I am. Backwards talking also, I am!
Want to try e-cigs. Something tells me they will be more conducive for spending my last days doing a reasonable imitation of something I did professionally, almost.
But, I am not brave and bold enough to just go and buy a 'kit'. I'm getting some good, some neutral input here..and will continue to avail self of the accumulated experiences of others.
I have to weeks worth of the lozenges stocked up. Got 'em on sale...$7.00 off.
When I'm down two / three days worth, It's crunch time........Any email messages filled with hope and encouragement welcome. Please?
