I figured instead of a regular old bump I would throw in one that is in the spirit of the contest...This is one our family traditions (with the required p.j.'s, we do that too)..a Christmas tree fit for a mall. That is my mommy down there. When she goes tree shopping, she doesn't stop until she finds a tree she wants to hug :?:

Ok here's a quick one that probably a few of you can relate to. A few years ago I asked for a scarf and gloves and my hubby asked for a BBQ Kit for Football Tailgaiting. We hit my Mother in Laws house first as usual. I received a pink scarf from my Mother in Law and a multi colored scarf and brown suede gloves from one of my Sister in Laws. My husband received a BBQ Kit from his Mother. We proceeded to my Nephew's house where I received a black scarf and my hubby received, you guessed it a BBQ Kit! We then went to my Mom and Grandma's house. We unwrapped our gifts to each other there and I received black gloves. My hubby received yet another BBQ Kit from my Mom and I received Isotoner Gloves and a red scarf with matching red gloves and hat from my Mom and Grandma. So I received a total of 4 scarves, 4 pairs of gloves and 1 hat and my hubby received 3 BBQ Kits. Of course we kept all of the gifts figuring we would use them eventually because all of them were given out of love and we just couldn't part with them.

I will do a tradition that my mom and I had.

The week before Thanksgiving, since I can remember we would go spend a week in Gatlinburg, TN as a family.

Then our Christmas tradition, was just me and my mom, we would put the tree up right after Thanksgiving and I would always decorate it and my mom would always put the star on the top. Then on Christmas Eve, my mom and I would snuggle up on the couch and watch the claymation Christmas movies with a cup of hot chocolate and we would all open one present. Then my brother, sister and I would pile up in one room and sleep together for that one night of the year.

Morning bump.

My family has a Christmas tradition that we have been following faithfully since I was a baby. Every year, the adults in the family buy every other member of the family a christmas ornament. That means that this year I will gift 12 ornaments and receive 7. The ornaments have little tags on the hangers with the name of the person who gave the ornament along with the year. I have 3 sisters, and all of our trees each year have only ornaments on them that were received from others as gifts. It is wonderful each year to open the storage boxes and pull out each ornament one by one, to see the names and years on them. They all have a memory associated with them. Trimming the tree is probably my favorite day of the holiday season, because I get to see all of these old friends again and remember the love and the laughter I shared the day I received it.

* one year, my oldest sister decided she wanted to use every ornament she has. She had 3 trees up that year in different parts of her house and still had some left over. *

A true story that is told at our house every Christmas.

When we were kids my three brothers and I decided to go deer hunting early on Christmas morning. My oldest brother was not much of a hunter but wanted to go along with the rest of us. We walked through the snow about 800 yards from the house and spread out around the woods. After being in our spots about 15 minutes we started hearing a noise. I couldn't quite tell what it was but it sounded to me like a small animal. The noise continued without stopping. After listening to this for about 10 minutes we knew no deer would come around that day. I whistled to my brothers and we met up at the edge of the woods, minus my older brother. Determined to find out what that noise was, we walked in the direction we heard it. A short distance later we found the noise, and my brother laying in the snow snoring loudly. We discussed what to do and came to a unanimous decision. We headed home so as not to bother his sleep. A few hours later he came home, mad as hell at all the laughter. Every Christmas is a guaranteed laugh thanks to my big bro!
