glad to see so many other NT peeps do not use the fascist book and this is in NO WAY a slam against an NT contest being held on it (so clark don't take it that way at all, k?) but i despise despise despise HATE fascist book SO MUCH don't get me started sorry guess already began but that's enough you know my position so im glad im not alone in not using it amongst family members way to go guys

Pretty much share the way you feel about FB, so no probs from this quarter.
As I said before, my only reason for keeping my account with them is that it's the easiest way for me to connect and keep up with a widely scattered collection of close friends. Mostly, I find FB annoying as heck and a total sellout from how it began.
Won't even get into data sales and privacy issues.

my partner has one for the same reason. for her it is a way to stay connected with people she has met while traveling the world. friends in south america, europe, vietnam - and i totally respect that about it. were i in her situation i would probably have kept mine too. i used to use it because i was a fairly involved musician and FB is a great way to promote shows, and rally for benefits, etc. we used to play for environmental benefits and human rights benefits (ie anti mountain top removal benefit was a huge hit and tons of fun to play at) so every avenue of recruitment we could take was critical. FB played an important and vital role in our success.

now, i'm a hermit - miss my music would love to play again but it's tough when you've got a full time salary job as innkeeper. when i left TN and that life behind me for the time being i got rid of FB forever

Sounds like we may have similar social attitudes/politics. :)
I'm also a musician, but usually only ever played small, local gigs - solo artist, 99% original material. No one cared much if you weren't a band, it seemed.
What's your instrument?

awesome :)
don't get me wrong though - all our shows/benefit shows are at a small and local level. the most i ever played for was approx 600 people at a local festival. outside of that our shows were small though some of the benefits wound up with lots of people attending but not necessarily all during our performance :)
I play bass - currently own an acoustic 5 string, and an electric fretless fender jazz bass. used to own a marcus miller edition fender jazz would kill to have it back. what do you play my friend? :)

PS would love to hear some of your music. i have utmost respect for solo artists :)

Always was attracted to bass, but didn't go that direction.
I play acoustic guitar, primarily.
Couple of nice Martins (including a '75 D-35 and a limited edition from 2001, I think. Original owner of both) and an acoustic/electric Ovation for knocking about, camping and that I'll let others play ( learned the hard way with my D-35 not to pass it around).
Also have a late 70s Ibanez Iceman. Old solid body electric that Weighs a ton!
I also love to play hand drums - Dumbek, Ashiko, jembe.
Passable on mandolin.
Music is part of my soul and fuels my spirit.

Nice brother - we should form an NT band. You could record some hand drum and guitar tracks, I could lay down some bass, The Don can lay down some vocals

Look FTS,
I like you, but before we score the lyrics, I think they need a wee bit O'refining.
;) :)
