I am 8 days into vaping, and it has been 6 days since my last analog. On day 2 of vaping (I was alternating vape/smoke), I put out the third cigarette because it tasted horrible and hurt my throat (like the first and second that day, but I am stubborn!).

Right now, I have a crazy urge for an analog! I gave away my pack, so I would have to go buy some. I'm pretty sure that would be a stupid thing to do, given that the best case scenario is wasting money (that could go for more juice, mmm, more juice)!

Has anyone else had this experience?

Nope... four days after I started vaping, I looked at smoking like its so 20th century.... why would you want to purposely set something on fire and inhale the smoke? especially if its not even getting you high? whan you can get the same effect (nicotene) from vaping. Now I will say this: I am searching for that nasty high mg tobaco flavor for when the urge does kick me in the teeth, as I am sure it will within six months.

I get it sometimes when out drinking. Usually I'm around my smoker friends in that case, so I just steal a drag off of their analog to remind myself how AWFUL it tastes. But for the most part, even living in a household full of smokers, I never get a craving.

Sometimes it helps to have a particular flavor that helps ease those cravings. Like my mom has one... I wish I knew which flavor and brand it was... that she uses when she's around heavy smokers. She says it fills her nostrils and somehow that stops the cravings. Perhaps find something that'll do the same thing for you.

Yes, I had the urge. I did not give in. Why should I? I kept telling myself, "I was getting nicotine and that is the reason I smoked in the first place." I would even scold myself, "What is your problem?" "Get over it." Things like that.

I would get out the strong nic juice and vape vape vape. I would toss in a candy flavor, which would screw up my atomizer, which would keep me busy cleaning out the candy flavor, etc.

The first couple of times, it seemed the urge went on for quite awhile. In reality, it was short lived. Urges became shorter and farther between. By week two, I was over it. I never smoked a cigarette after staring my pv.

Remember: Smoking a cigarette is still legal. The world will not end if you light one up. And...that choice is yours.

I experienced this when I first started. Raising my nicotine level really helped out with that. I bought 18mg juice and that just wasn't doing it for me, so I bought some 24mg. I would use the 24mg until the urge subsided, then go back to 18mg. I finally (or so I thought) weened myself down to 18mg exclusively. Stress made me start having cravings, so I bumped it up again. There's nothing in the rule book that says you can't use two different nicotine levels, so that might be a good option for you.

I think I should probably try this as I have a gabillion little juice bottles, 99% of which are 18mg.... but sometimes I feel like I do need that extra little kick in the chest.

Actually, it's a great way to manage it, I still use a higher mg in the morning than at night. Adjust and conquer the urge!

A few days ago I grabbed my purse, dug in for my cigs while heading for the back door to go to my smoking table. I panicked... Cigarettes! I have no cigarettes! I put 24 mg juice in my PV and all was fine. Scared me for a second.

My Golden Retreiver was super-excited though. He knew it was ball-playing time when I'd head for the patio for a cig. Old habits die hard for both of us.

I would urge you to tuff it out. Don't buy another pack. Bum one if you must. Try a .... if you can find one and really have to. Maybe light a filter so you can see the smoke and nasty smell. Order a new atty or some higher nic liquid to give hope. Do something to divert. Try vaping left handed. Point it at the moon. Shake the juice. It will pass. Go read a book. Take a walk. Post some more messages. Try a snus maybe.

I withstood by vaping some 555 and having a yummy dinner-- it's awfully nice to taste again! And getting a kiss from my partner while vaping (he is allergic to cigarette smoke) drove the point home.

Thank-you ALL for the fantastic advice! I'm going to keep the high nic 555 in my kit for these situations (and boy, it is tastier than I expected) and keep enjoying the vapes!

Wish I had thought of that - go kiss someone! Episode 2 (or 3 or whatever) - solved. Wishing you success in drawing those 5's in the future if needed.

I seem to have a different approach - I've been vaping for about 4 weeks, and I made a decision at the start that I wasn't going to go Cold Turkey with the analogues, I'd just see how it goes. Interestingly, how it went is that I find vaping more satisfying than smoking, and I hardly ever even want a cig (roll-up in my case). I do get a 'fancy a rollie' feeling sometimes, and if I do, I'll have one - In fact I did just that while reading this post. It was the first analogue for a couple of days, and was an underwhelming experience! I can see that the urge to smoke will just fade away further over time, but I'll keep a pouch of baccy handy so that I don't build up a 'want a cig' moment into the 'got no baccy - panic - got to go and buy some' scenario that I remember from previous attempts to quit.
I'm not advocating this approach for anyone else, but it seems to be working out ok for me.

Yea thats what I need, the punishment bottle!!

Bahahahahah now THAT'S funny....I kinda like that idea though. I still have 1/2 pack of analogs in my truck..I think the psychological thing of knowing they're there makes the mind stress less..however I've had zero inclination to get one and I was hanging out with heavy smokers all weekend and actually didn't care for the smell of analogs anymore...I think I'm over 30 years of analogs FINALLY!!

:)

Bravo, kudos, congrats for you. I'm a 40+ habit years and think finally kicked. But know location of probably long ago stale ones should overwhelming urge strike. Provides a degree of security on the one hand and a sense of finally beating the devil on the other in knowing available but choosing not. And in case you hadn't noticed, kissing will sometimes do that momentary, transient urge to return to the dark side, in. A short term nic kit over a stale smell wins for me as well.
