It's fairly warm here for January, but rumor has it the cold weather is returning later this week. I don't mind...it's winter. 75 degrees just doesn't seem right.

It's sunny and pretty out but cold.

Mom has had a rough time over the last 20 years. Alcoholism ruined two marriages, and cost her a $75k/year job. She finally got her life back on track and found a job that pays (I think) $300 per day that she enjoys doing. Im proud of her for getting to this point in her life.

Kudos to her for getting her life on track!

I'm back home from work. Busy day today. Monday I have a standard poodle I have to do. It's gonna take me forever to do as it has to be scissored quite a bit.

House work is done except for mopping. I think I am gonna take a nap first.

I went up to the glass studio today. Someone I've made a bunch of art for in the past has been asking me to make a marble for her. I got the chance to hop on a buddies torch, so I took the opportunity.

Silver and gold fume implosion over Star White with an opal, backed with Jet Black.

Took a little over an hour.

I went up to the glass studio today. Someone I've made a bunch of art for in the past has been asking me to make a marble for her. I got the chance to hop on a buddies torch, so I took the opportunity.

Took a little over an hour.

Wow, that's amazingly beautiful.

Yeah, that's how I felt today Rick. I was assembling some rifles, but had a huge urge to create art. Got to hang out with some friends while blowing some glass; always a good time.

Thinking back, it took closer to 2 hours. I had to pluck the opal (Gilson opal- lab grown, not real [the COE is way too different between borosilicate glass and real opal]) off and center it better. The first application just wasn't sitting well with me. But the design is rather simple. Just fume, dots, a twist and backing.

I had to look up COE! Coefficient of thermal expansion? I'm a business major - to me, CO-anything always means Cost Of.
