That's why we did a regular fence out back. I thought the electric one was cool too, then heard what happens.
Thats the problem with the electric fences. The dogs can get so excited over something and run through them. But once calmed down to walk through to return shocks them and they don't wan't to go back through.I was going to get the electronic fence till the installer explained that.:lol:

Exactly...anyway I would be afraid a big stray would walk right into my yard and hurt my dogs.Did I mention that I have all lovers no fighters...Well except maybe Ricky who may or may not be our dog...still he's awfully little...

That's why I got a 6ft regular fence. I'd seen my Lab take off after a rabbit (and we have tons around here!) and there's no way she would mind a little zap while chasing one.

A strange story - before I knew my DIL's family, I used to hate their German Shepherd with a passion! Their house is on the corner, and there's a stop sign at the back end of their yard. Their dog would tear ... across the yard when I was on my bike and stopped for the stop sign, and I thought I was going to get bitten! Some dogs absolutely hate the sound of a bike, and will chase you. We even got taught about this in the safety course. Of course, I had no idea they had an electric dog fence! As soon as I saw him running, I took off!

Can't like that. Every day walking to school this chihuahua used to race off his porch to bite me. No fence at all, so often he got a mouthful of my jeans. I hated walking past that house. If I wasn't running late I'd go the scenic route just to avoid the mean little dude. I finally swatted him a good one when he drew blood, and he stopped it. Had I known that earlier.... :grr: I was terified of chihuahuas for the longest time.

We most def. did and can't wait to go back. Hubby was dragged around for 8 hours of shopping up there and apparently enjoyed it.
