Damn...wanna trade places, Tiff?

Nah, I'm good.

New avi for Tiff and one of my employees who has Asperger's Syndrome.

Class is over...great session tonight. My Monday night group is shaping up to be one of the best classes I've ever had. Night, all!

Thank you Rick!

I haven't been blowing a lot of glass lately. But I did go tho the studio the other day to hang out with some friends. Well, I got 'bit by the torch bug' and just couldn't not make some stuff.

My hands were pretty rusty so I stuck to small stuff: pendents. These aren't your traditional pendents but I do hope you enjoy.

I apologize for the finger smudges on some of the work.

They are all sold. But if interested I can make more.

Adam, those are gorgeous! My favorite is the black and white, but I absolutely love the flower looking center of the last one. Good to see you back with the glass.

"Black and white", as in the 4 pic montage? I have to agree. It's also the most difficult to make. I have to make color lined tube, 'wig wag' it back and forth, take it off the tube an flare it to a disc. Then weld it on the the spiral medallion backing. And opals always present a risk of your work cracking. You have to keep the opal attachments 'hot (~700*-which is actually a 'low' temp when borosilicate (boro) is concerned) You have to work them super slow. They don't like heat. Although they're not natural Australian opals. They're 'Gilson Opals', which means they were grown in a lab to be the same CoE (Coefficient of Expansion) as borosilicate glass, which is 33.

The "flower looking" center is an 'implossion'. You make a clear gatherer, flatten the face, dot color in a specific pattern. Then, melt the color dots in to the clear and 'slump' the flat face with the dots. The perimiter of the flat face falls in on itself, thus 'implodding' the dots.

Here's what it looks like from the side:

Can't like your eyes hurting.

Merrick is made in Texas. I get it from Petco because they deliver it to my hut. Free. I don't believe they have been recalled at all. No China junk in their foods is why I buy it. And the boys both like it and look good on it.

Afternoon Posse....The sun is out.It hurts my eyes...I am sooooo not used to it.
Who makes Merrick? Has it ever had any recalls? I know it's U.S. sourced which is what I look for but I have not ever heard about it..

I've always fed Charlie Canidae grain-free and Blue Buffalo Wilderness grain-free dry foods, and Blue Buffalo and Simply Nurture wet food (also grain free), supplemented with daily raw meat (chicken, pork, beef) and a meaty bone once a week or so. I use EV olive oil in his food for the Omegas, but I really would like to start using cod liver oil instead.

Where can one find a meaty bone? When I was a kid Joe Simone always kept the big bones for me.He's was the town's Butcher...I almost forgot about Joe...Good Times..
