I see. Twerkking is not being able to dance. Got it.

Two and a half hours later, Mr. V just carried 100# of Jake back in the house. His back legs don't work right and they can't find anything wrong except his arthritis. He's running a fever and I have a serious hole in my checkbook. Mr. V now has a crinch in his back from lugging said dog around. I get the joyous task of stuffing yet another pill down Mr. Happypants throat twice a day. And Mr. V gets to carry him in and out for potty calls. Marvelous.

Behind on work, it may just be a day behind at this point.

(((JD))) we miss you.

Bamrz, I will certainly sell DIY flavors and stuff if it comes down to that. On pins and needles over here, it's like waiting for the other shoe to fall.....

Wow, 2 posts with not a whole lot to like in either one. :( Glad to hear you'd be up for the DIY thing though.

Can you give aspirin to dogs? Just wondering if there's anything to bring Jake's fever down?

Sorry, I hate giving bad news.

He gets Tramadol for the pain, he's on antibiotics now for the fever. He's still crabby, but couldn't even manage to voice his displeasure at the vet. That's when they started taking me seriously. me: "Jake's not even growling and moaning" vet: "This is serious! Get him in here right now!"

That's what I said. So work is waiting while I get him settled in. If he falls asleep comfortably I'll go to work. If hr lays there panting and looking miserable still, I'll stay home with him. He's given me 9 years of devotion and love, I can give him a night of cuddling and sympathy.

Not liking Jake being that sick - you guys will be in my prayers. Tell Mr. V to go easy on that back. :/ +1 on missing JD. Things aren't the same without you around, JD....

Both, he's young and bright. He can multi-task. Probably better than any of us can.
So I have a quandry....You know I plan to have Ruger trained (it's in the process now) as a Therapy Dog. I found out new info and can actually have him trained as a psychiatric service dog. The cost is minimal. What would you do?

Jake's 9, which is getting up there for a boxer. We're going to try to do a bath towel sling to help him get around for now. Hopefully he'll feel better soon. If not, I won't make him stay this way, he's miserable. Which means we are too. Of course his jaws still clench shut when he sees a blue pill bottle. He hasn't lost any strength there, or his crabbiness. That's my boy.

I'm at work trying to get a bit done. We'll see how well that works out.

Morgan, Mr. V said that is brilliant. And that he thanks you. Jake is his buddy and this is really hurting both of them. Jake's legs and pride, and Mr. V's heart.

Anything to help.

We knew that something like that would happen with Cheyenne, she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia at 2 and she was with the family for 16 years before it became too much for her. She didn't want help but she didn't mind us holding the towel to let her walk on her own.

And I really am praying Jake gets better. He's a part of our little family just as much as everyone else.

Do both if you can afford to. My Daughter has just recently taken up the cause of service animals. The organization she helps with provides dogs for children with ADD ,Autism,as well as physically disabled. The work they do is amazing.I'll try and get a hold of her.The name escapes me at the moment because I'm old.Her role will be that of a whelping Mom.They will give Anna a Mom dog and the dog. will have 3 litters over a period of years for the program.Anna will raise them until they are 8 weeks old. From there they will begin their training with prison inmates.Anna will keep the mom dog. She's really excited about it.I'll try and find out more.
