Good morning everyone.

And so begins a workday followed by a game followed by a workday (at night) followed by a workday followed by a practice. And thats just through Wednesday.

Kat has her pediatric orthopedic doc appt Thursday. We'll find more out about her knee then. She may even have to go in for an MRI. Dunno yet though.

Time for me to get to work. I missed one day, yet somehow have three days of work sitting on the floor.

James!!! We missed you. Get some rest, we'll see you tomorrow.
Rest? Rest of what? What is this "rest" you speak of?

FV, I don't know whether you'd heard or not, but CaliKim passed away Friday. Her husband posted in FB.
WHAT?!?!? What happened?!?

FYI from the other place:

On September 12 Cali Kim under went what should have been a relatively minor and easy surgery. I spoke with her after the surgery late into the evening and she seemed to be doing OK. However, I just received a message from her husband Luke that Kim passed away due to complications on Friday September 13. Kim and I became good friends over the past year and I know she made many friends here, so it came as no surprise when Luke asked me to share this information here letting every one know. Here is what Luke shared with me in his own words.

"The love of my life, known as Cali Kim to many of you, passed away unexpectedly last Friday. I want to thank any of you that had estabished a friendship with her as she really enjoyed sharing time talking to her friends on the internet."

It's freakin' freezing! Why is it so cold? I dropped Ruger off and felt so bad for him. He looked so confused when I walked out without him. I think I need to go back to sleep.

FYI from the other place:

I saw that this morning. Very sad! I'm glad I got one of her tips.

Of course I do.
Evenin' Posse.

Sorry for the hiatus. Saturday was a morning of helping my dad and stepmom with their portion of a neighborhood wide yard sale, hurt my back in the process, followed by keeping Mrs E from buy everyone's junk at the remainder of the neighborhood wide yard sale. I then made my trip into the closest city (Not Charlotte) for a few items for my trip to DC. Kat spent the night with my niece. My brother took the girls to "Scarowinds". The amusement park "Carowinds" turns the entire park into a haunted park. Its actually really cool, but not something that Melanie and CJ should go to. Sunday was dropping Melanie off at Sunday school, grrrrrrocery shopping, then taking Melanie and CJ to Children's Choir practice. As soon as we got home, we scarfed down some lunch and then it was time to go to the airport. Thankfully, there were no problems getting through security. Got to DC, caught the cab to the hotel on Georgetown Univ campus, and promptly ordered room service. $50 later.... no, thats not a typo. FIFTY dollars for an appetizer of wings, and a burger and fries combo. Ate the food, then stood in the shower for, literally, an hour. The heat really helped my back feel better. Woke up this morning and ordered room service for breakfast. Raisin Bran, a banana, blueberry muffin, and a glass of OJ. Anyone want to guess at the cost??? Anyone??? $20. FOR A BOWL OF CEREAL. I am SO glad I didnt have to foot the bill for the food. I wouldve been walking to McDonalds or ordering pizza or something.

After breakfast, me and a few other people that were there for the same reason were met by the guy escorting us today. He started calling names and came to mine last. He said "James....Ef...." Then he looked up. "Holy $hi+. You got called AGAIN?!?" He remembered me from my last donation. Long story short, I am in perfect health, but slightly overweight. But that part isnt new news.

The shooting at the Navy Yard in DC this morning had us on edge though. At one point, the airport was shut down. We were really close to scrambbling to find another flight home somehow. Thankfully, that wasnt needed. And again, made it through security with no problems. Big surprise considering the events of the morning.

As soon as I got home, it was time to change clothes and head to the ball field. We got home after 9:30. Kat's knee is still jacked up, but it took her trying to run to first base to convince her it wasnt better.

Now, I think its time for bed. Tomorrow will involve an 8 hour shift, followed by a game, followed by up to 8 more hours of overnight work, followed by 8 MORE hours of my regular shift, followed by another practice.

Potato ...? I dont think this was mentioned enough after this was said. Because potato ... IS sweet.

Thanks Drott. I knew you cared.

Mrs E still misses the commissary. 12pk of soda was $1.99. And the meat prices were awesome.

Lets see if I can hit the rest of it from memory....

Well all that made me tired especially since I've been carrying around my Brand New Itaste 134...Did I mention it was heavy?...Glad you're back and sorry about your back.I think once it's injured it never really is right. I'm surprised you're home after the Naval Yard incident. We were in a trolly sight seeing n D.C.when they had a bomb scare.I thought I'd grow old before we were allowed to proceed.

Mrs E came to eat lunch with me.

Then she told me I wouldnt be able to take the bike to the softball game this evening. :glare: Something about Melanie having her game at 6:00, then Kat's game at 7:15 that Kat wont be playing in, all three of them feeling a little under the weather and they may no want to stay through the whole second game meaning I need to have a vehicle with four wheels so I can tote all the gear back home. Sounds like crazy talk to me.

Time to get back to work. Bleh.

My last day off. Still haven't accomplished anything. Doesn't look like I'm going to either.

Im liking that only for the picture, and the fact you havent accomplished anything. Days off arent meant for more work. Congrats on the success of nothing!

Can't like it Drott, but the picture is adorable! I didn't get much done over the weekend, so you're not alone. Today hasn't been very productive either. ugh.
Please see above.
