There's a great place in Cashtown that is haunted. It's where Lee stayed on the approach to Gettysburg. The best thing is.They serve lunch and they serve the best Crab Cake Sandwich EVER...We can go on a Ghost walk thru the town at night. They tell stories about little known facts on the places you go and what the site played in the battle of Gettysburg...I could show you the place that Dan Sickles abandoned his post only to have a college professor from Bowdoin Maine save the day. Some say he and his troops (The 20th Maine) won the battle of Gettysburg with the help of about 40 men who were caught going AWOL from different divisions in Maryland. Not only did they fight with Chamberlain they fought for him and helped turn the tide on Little Round Top.

My next vacation is at the end of March. Is it March yet?
I need a vacation. A road trip vacation. I'm thinking May.

Ive always wanted to go to to Gettysburg. I cant go with the family though. Im the only one who enjoys history.
I don't care much for history, but totally enjoyed the trip I did with my lady biker friends to Gettysburg. :) One lady is from CA, and she was the history buff. She would tell the rest of us all about the battles and stuff.

Here's a pic of my friend Boo's shoulder as she's describing the battlefield stuff to us:

And Jet, Boo and me around the giant Amish guy:

Agreed....I still am bummed about losing my vacation buddy.
Me too. I took a moratorium on road trips last year because I lost my BFF and riding buddy Barb, I didn't think I could handle going without her. But now the itch needs scratching! :)

Well come on.I'm sure Drott Punkin and Bam will meet us there.I think Drott lives right up the street..
WOOT!!!

Entertaining is putting it very mildly I think!:lol::lol:

Thank God FV's shipment arrived, we were about totally out of ALL of our backup emergency vapes, and with MLK day, and the snow storm, things were looking VERY dicey out here. WHEW, shipment JUST arrived in time. Hope all is well with the Posse, and FV, I'm very impressed with your new Ginger vape, very tasty. :)

Bamrz, nice looking crew you roll with. :)

It's nice to go in June.I have been there plenty on the date of the battle which are the 1,2,3 of July. It's crowded then but everyone dresses in uniform or styles of the day. But it's hot...The middle of June is the best time..

We're in Stretchy, when do you normally go each year? I need to plan in advance so I have a dog and chicken sitter. And plenty of warning that the store will be closed.

I snuck....sneaked....?....I left work a little early without permission. Dinner was ready as soon as I got home. Mrs E usually scares me when she fires up the grill, but she did a good job tonight. Italian dressing marinated chicken breast, with a side of green peas and yellow rice cooked with a splash of Italian dressing. Yummy stuff. And I still have enough calories leftover on my diet to have some ice cream without guilt. I was going to have ice cream anyway, but its good to know its in my budget. :D

You know... If you hop on I-81 south into North Carolina, then pick up Hwy 321 south, it would be a GORGEOUS ride. The stretch of hwy between Hickory NC and Gastonia NC is a good one. Speed limit at 65 or 70 (I cant remember which) with plenty of easy turns and mild hills. And I-81 takes you straight down the Appalachian mountain chain. You could be here in 10 hours!!!
