Tent camping is fun Tiff! You just fill some water jugs to take along. Cook on the campfire, scare the kids in the dark woods, all fun. :D

But what do you do with your time between waking up and going to bed. You can only stare at nature for so long. Plus everytime we've gone camping I've come home covered in bug or chigger bites and everyone else is fine.

Just had to share.... If you didn't know, one of the quirks of Asperger's is they often times take things literally. Alex wanted to make muffins and the directions said to put the batter in a paper liner. All I have are the aluminum foil liners so he was up in arms about not being able to use them because they weren't paper. It's all good now, I explained it was ok and he reluctantly used them.

Another gem that he once said was when we were listening to the radio and they were talking about quitting smoking cold turkey. He asked me how eating cold turkey helps you quit smoking.

Play cards, look for animal tracks and try to guess what made them, eat, tell stories (scary ones over the campfire), check out the different plants that grow there, hang out and talk, cook an entire meal in tinfoil in the fire, make stuff out of found items, swim if there is a lake available....

Yep, we're campers.

sounds like little kids on Christmas morning.
When we moved to Hawaii, the previous occupants of our housing unit had left a rather large wooden crate in the shed. It turned out to be one of the best toys ever for the boys! I attached an old bicycle wheel at one end, and it became everything from a race car, to a boat, to a tank!

If you don't have sensitivity issues, Deep Woods Off is the shiznit! Oh, and go hiking! It will work up an appetite so nobody fusses about helping to get food ready when you get back to camp!

My God son has days where things like that will bother him, other times he doesn't care.

Adding the wheel was brilliant. Ours played with whatever they got their hands on, a sheet of cardboard makes a great sled on a grassy hill.

Yes and it's very good...I had a cup with an egg sandwich...It was wonderful...
I'm finally sitting down. We sat at the hospital over an hour to get the bloodwork done. I kid you not, they took 7 vials of blood from her. I ran by Petsmart to pay for Ruger's Intermediate Training class. He starts in a couple of weeks. Supper is cooked....smoked sausage for Alex, hamburger for Morgan, and my sweet potato is in the oven now. Morgan is already asleep. Now I need to go look up how many points a sweet potato has.

I talked to hubby a bit ago and he was talking about camping as a family which is fine but his idea of camping and my idea of camping are miles apart. He wants to go in the woods with no water or electricity hook ups. Something about going to the Nat'l Forest and finding a site that has a fire pit and pitch a tent there for a couple of days. I'm seriously hoping he was joking. I don't mind camping but would prefer electric and water. And even better would be a camper. I could live with that. I mean what in the world would you do in the middle of no where with no electricity and no water spout for two days? And no bathroom either. I'm all for some family time but....

 That was supposed to be bloodwork. How auto correct got bodywork out of bloodwork I have no idea.

Yuuummmm, that does sound good. For the Keurig, right?
