I'd wait until 3 minutes or so then refresh, refresh, refresh. Make it a big bid. As long as it works like ebay and doesn't take the bid all the way up but in increments as someone else bids with you. Not sure if that makes much sense.
Yes, that makes sense. It goes in $1 increments, so when I raise my max I will be bidding again by $1
