I've got the roku 2 xd. We use it in the bedroom instead of paying for another cable box rental. Its really good for netflix and hbogo and you can even rent movies through amazon.

I have over 4tb of movies on pc so i got it for kids room. I will hack it i think and mount it to a hard drive for a portable player.

I really hate saying this because I dislike this company and their products and ideology but the apple tv would probably do better for that.
