Morning posse. My turn to vent. So, the wife got a call last week from temp agency for a 6 week position starting yesterday. as most of you know, she lost her job almost 6 months ago and hasn't had much luck finding anything. (nor has she tried real hard, different rant) so, sunday she started feeling not well, cold/flu symptoms. She went to the job yesterday. This morning, she called in sick. now, I'm not disputing that she's sick. She is but you don't call in sick on the 2nd day of the job unless you're in the freaking hospital or dead. Period. I'm trying my best here for us to have some semblance of a christmas and still survive and her getting a paycheck friday would sure have helped a great deal. I'm just livid. I can't even fathom how selfish and uncaring you have to be to do this. Ok, end rant.

Eesh. I think I agree with you. Its better to go in and let the management send you home than it is to just call out on day two.

Good morning!

(hugs to JD) This is why I went back to DS (Creative Memoires). Its a paycheck and I love the product. But if I'm sick and a client is having a show, I go, unless I'm contagious. With that said, I've gone contagious when there are 50 + guest attending! I just keep my distance & explain at the beginning of my presentation that I'm not feeling great, but "you" the guests are my first priority.

((JD)) It probably would not have done her good to go to work sick. She would have been off her game and sometimes that's worse than not being there. It has to be tough to be young and trying to make ends meet when only one has a job.It certainly takes two in this economy to keep the ball rolling and that's a fact.I don't know what the answer is other than sitting down and telling her the financial situation your family is in.I'm sure you have probably done that.I'm glad you were able to vent because that's important enough not to carry around and let fester.Try not to worry..these things have a way to working themselves out.Have a great day at work and as they say in Kearny New Jersey where they keep vacationing mail forgetaboutit .

Good morning Posse! Mail was sorted fairly quick this morning, and they had plenty to cover the window, so I asked the new OIC if I could leave early - YES!!! :)
