I guess we are under a state of emergency. It's still snowing and drifting. The postal run and drive home was fun. Tomorrow, more fun.

Brave souls are still out, the plows are out, but the roads are drifting over as fast as they plow.

There's a fire in the field/woods by the town hall. We stopped at the closest house to tell them but no one came to the door. Then we called the fire dept and reported it. The dispatcher asked Russ to meet them at the town hall to show them where it is. He's been sitting there in his truck waiting for at least 1/2 hour. Sure hope our house never needs them.

Victor thinks the snow is marvelous. Jake raises all his hair and growls at me when I tell him it's time to go out. He still goes, but I have to push him all the way to the door and out. And yell at him to get down the steps and GO. Big baby.

2# Bear. tee hee, he's a big one.

That just doesn't sound good at all. Be careful!

Mr. V's back. It appears that the people in that house we went to started a bonfire/huge brush pile fire, and left. In wicked winds, next to the woods. Idiots. The police and DNR are waiting in their driveway to talk to them. They can't get a firetruck in there to put it out. That woods goes north to our place... I'm not happy with said neighbor.

I feel really weird with the store closed. Like I'm being bad or something. Of course I do have plenty of orders to fill tomorrow, then get the hut ready for Christmas. Oh, and off to TSC tomorrow for one last gift. Today is a no go, due to weather of course.

Try to enjoy the night off. You deserve it/

I'm sure they will have it put out, or contained soon. I freak at unattended fires as we have a volunteer fire department. It takes them a long time to get to the station, geared up, then to the fire. When a neighbor's house burned a few years bac, it was just smoldering rubble when they arrived. Then it was just containment, so it didn't start the woods on fire. ugh. I didn't feel terrible for her though, I saw her loading her stuff in a u-haul and leaving right before the fire started. :glare:
