It's been a loooooooong day. I was in class from 9 to 5:30. I ended up knowing about 3 people there from other advocacy classes and work I've done before. My roommate is very nice and we have a good bit in common. We stayed up until almost midnight last night talking.
Todays class focused mainly on the history of the disability rights movement and the history of how those with disabilities have been treated in society going all the way back to the 1500's. We went around the room and introduced ourself and told everyone why we were taking the class, etc. The whole time I'm thinking to myself "OMG, they get it, someone else really does understand and get it". Anyway, I won't bore you with all the details but there was a lot of info and I learned a lot today.
Alex called me about 4 times telling me he wasn't going to go to my mom's house tonight. He was in panic mode which put me on edge. Hubby called him and talked to him and then my dad got there and picked him up. Last time I spoke witth him he was fine. Thank goodness. I was worried I was gonna have to leave and go home. Anywho...
After class I came back and changed and about 7 of us went back to Ted's to eat. I only got sweet tea this time though.
