I deal with that, big time. I just don't know how to act/react in social situations and in public. I feel awkward. It's definitely difficult at times. It's frustrating.

I know it must be! I see Alex struggle with it daily and occassionally he'll talk to me about it.

And then there is the lovely drunken tats. Those are my favorites. My ex had a hilarious tattoo on his back. His buddies thought it would be a hoot to pay off the inkmaster to give him a butterfly rather than the dragon. Bwahahahaha!
No, but I've seen some pretty bad ones online. Everything from misspelling to hideous interpretations of people's kid's faces.

Remember the Epilady? I don't' know how that idea made it past quality control. They obviously didn't have any one test it on themselves before they sold it to the public.

Actually, a lot of people with Asperger's work in fields where they are either self employed or don't have a lot of interaction with the general public. Alex wants to work in the computer programming field. We want Alex to get a summer job after school is out this year. I've been racking my brain trying to think of something that wouldn't freak him out but would still expose him to both the work atmosphere AND give him real world experience with the public. With him it's a matter of him not wanting to leave the house. AT ALL. Ever. He has impeccible manners so I'm not worried about that. I just don't want to get a call that he's gotten upset with soemthing and is hiding under a counter somewhere.

I've still got my grandpas shaving brush that is like the one you're talking about. And his little bowl that he put the soap in. It's in a box in my closet.

I don't understand the reason you couldn't have a moustache or a beard in a workplace. Hubby can't have one because the breathing equipment wouldn't suction to his face in a fire if he has facial hair so that I understand but other places it doesn't make sense to me. He can't wear jewelry either. If he goes in a fire then the jewelry could burn his skin.

What's the weirdest is that Disney "cast members" could never have any facial hair until 2001. That was Walt's rule, because he wanted his employees to personify clean-cut Americana. This was the same Walt who had a moustache his entire adult life. Go figure....

One of my employees has Asperger's Syndrome.... He is very hard to manage, but we work with him to make it work out.

A fascinating book that just happens to prominently feature a major character with Asperger's (this is non-fiction, and the book is a fantastic read, and it's not about Asperger's at all, it's about the few people who made a fortune off of seeing the subprime mortgage collapse coming) is The Big Short.
